Two days later and still overwhelmed with gratitude! See you June 19, 2027?? 👀

Thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, sponsored, vended, shared a post, said a prayer, or supported the 2026 Juneteenth Unity & Heritage Festival in any way. What we experienced on Saturday was truly special.

Seeing our community come together to celebrate freedom, culture, history, and unity filled my heart in ways I can’t fully put into words. There were countless hours of work behind the scenes, but every moment was worth it when I looked out and saw so many smiling faces.

Thank you for believing in this vision and helping make it a reality. This festival belongs to OUR community Goldsboro, and because of you, it continues to grow.

Today, we celebrate freedom, resilience, culture, and the generations who endured so much so that we could have the opportunities we have today.

Juneteenth is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come, the progress we’ve made, and the work that still lies ahead. It is a day to honor our history, celebrate our heritage, and embrace the strength of our community.

Tomorrow, we’ll gather together in Downtown Goldsboro to celebrate unity, heritage, and freedom. But today, we honor the reason why.

Happy Juneteenth, everyone. May we never forget the sacrifices that brought us here and may we continue building a future we can all be proud of.

The Juneteenth flag features a bursting star representing a new beginning and freedom for African Americans in all 50 states.

Have you ever wondered what the Juneteenth flag represents?

⭐ The star symbolizes freedom.
⭐ The burst represents a new beginning.
⭐ The red, white, and blue remind us that African Americans are an integral part of American history.

Though the flags history will remain I changed, today, many choose to use the colors 🖤💚❤️💛 to celebrate the holiday.

Did you know? Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865. It’s a celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress. Some even point out that after this date, many were still in bo***ge.

To accommodate the Juneteenth Unity & Heritage Festival, portions of Downtown Goldsboro will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic.

ROAD CLOSURE AREA:
Center Street between Chestnut Street and Spruce Street

Festival Hours:
3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Join us on Saturday, June 20 at 1:30 PM as we celebrate the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the James & Pine Memorial Parklet, a space dedicated to preserving the legacy of the James & Pine Black Business District and the entrepreneurs who helped shape Goldsboro's story.
