: Craft shows aren’t [just] for little old ladies anymore.
Looking ahead to the holidays, I know that many of us will find ourselves following an enthusiastic family member through a seasonal or , trying to blend into the racks of wooden snowmen and pinecone crafts and wondering when it’s time for lunch…
Each of those vendors has a different reason for being there. This could literally be anything!
- They need a side hustle to support themselves in this economy.
- They want to share the joy of making with others (Me! That one’s me!)
- Or maybe they just have a passion for those dang pinecones!
Change your mindset. Change the world.
How often do you interact with the source who handmade the item you’re purchasing anymore?
Instead of rushing to the next thing on your schedule, I’d challenge you to do this at the next chance you have:
- Try to see the human story behind the goods that they’ve made.
- Make eye contact (*gasp!*) and strike up a conversation.
- Teach your kids about possibilities.
- Appreciate interacting with a human when you make your purchase.
- Enjoy some in-person, quality time with your family and friends (and be that we are back to normal enough to do so!)
Why do I care?
Because if you know me, you’ll know that I’m a by day, prolific by night, and a total nerd about the of creative thinking.I like to paint, draw (both digitally and analog), dye, dip, mold, cook, grow, etc. as a means for and positive . I spent too many years thinking that I wasn’t an artist, but in recent years I’ve rejected and dove head first into making to my heart’s content.
is simply a muscle one can strengthen with practice.
