The Yard is taking shape... and fast!

It’s exciting to see how much progress can happen in such a short period of time.

Our capital improvement project to create The Yard, the new outdoor activity hub at Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center, is moving right along. With new pathways, activity areas and turf already beginning to transform the space, it’s getting easier every day to imagine the fun that will soon happen here.

Designed to add another dimension to events at Hecker Pass, The Yard will offer multiple opportunities for outdoor fun, play and friendly competition giving event planners even more ways to bring people together beyond the traditional event experience.

This flexible new activity hub will include:

• 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁 for basketball, pickleball, volleyball or badminton
• 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀 with all-weather Pacific Pearl surface
• 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 with options for horseshoes, corn hole, tetherball, and other lawn games and activities

For corporate retreats, company picnics, festivals, and private celebrations, The Yard will be a great place for guests of all ages to relax, play, and connect throughout the day.

Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center remains available for hosting events as we progress toward an official "grand reopening" of The Yard and other new amenities in 2027.

The engines are revving, the harvest season is here, and we're excited to welcome one of Gilroy's favorite community traditions to Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center!

We're proud to host the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce's 26th Annual Garlic City Car Show & Harvest Festival, bringing together classic and custom cars, a family harvest celebration, local businesses, live music, local food, beer and wine, and the incredible community spirit that makes Gilroy so special.
