Liliana's work lives at the intersection of fragility and strength. Each piece begins as a painted surface, layered with glass and sealed in resin — so that as light moves across it, the floral compositions shift and shimmer in ways a flat canvas never could.

My piece “Autumn Gathered” is part of the Togetherness juried art show in Kenmore, and getting to celebrate at the artist gala tonight was such a joy. There’s something so special about standing in a room full of art and the people who made it.

Gate of Blossoms: stories I didn’t write.
Something wonderful happened to one of my paintings this summer. ARCS Journal invited writers to respond to Gate of Blossoms with flash fiction and poetry, and the results floored me.
The same blue door became a search for truth. A longing for memory. A story of loss and unexpected kindness. A meditation on the invitations we refuse, and the ones we follow.
Same painting. Same purple blossoms. Completely different worlds: each one independent of what I made, and yet impossible without it.
I think that’s the best thing that can happen to a piece of art: watching people complete it with everything they’ve lived, in ways I never could have imagined myself.
☀️ And if you want to see the piece in person, Gate of Blossoms is at the Redmond Arts Festival this weekend, and the weather couldn’t be better for it. Come find the blue door.

Today I’m saying goodbye to my time exhibiting at Macrina Bakery & Cafe. It’s been such a joy knowing my work got to live among the everyday moments there: morning coffees, quiet conversations, people passing through. There’s something special about art finding its way into ordinary life like that!

And I couldn’t ask for a better send-off: my piece “Needle in the Sky I” found its forever home this week. Knowing it will be part of someone’s daily life now, instead of just hanging on a wall, means everything!

Thank you, Macrina Bakery, for six beautiful months of hosting my work!
