What do Fine Arts teachers do in the summer? They continue creating opportunities for students to learn, grow, and shine!
This summer, the East View High School Cheer directors and cheerleaders have been busy representing GISD and investing in the next generation of student leaders.
In early June, the EVHS Cheer program attended UCA Cheer Camp at the University of Texas at Arlington, where the directors guided and prepared students for evaluations that resulted in outstanding success. Both teams earned Superior ribbons, and the Varsity team received the coveted Gold Superior ribbon for its spirit routine—an honor awarded to the top routine of all evaluations.
The work continued with the annual Little Cheer Summer Camp, hosted by the EVHS Cheer Booster Club. Under the leadership of the EVHS Cheer directors, the cheerleaders taught young campers cheers, jumps, tumbling, stunts, dance, leadership, and crafts. Camp concluded with special performances for family and friends, showcasing all they had learned.
From professional growth and program preparation to mentoring younger students and building leadership skills, our Fine Arts teachers and directors are making an impact all summer long.
