Great news!! 🥳🥳 We are happy to share that La Grande Bande has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts that will provide partial support for our November concert program "Music from New France." Subtitled 'From Battlefields to Bourbon street,' "Music from New France" explores the alliance between the Kingdom of France and the American Revolutionaries as they fought for the Revolutionary War.

The program is centered around a 1754 manuscript of French Baroque music which was brought to France for Ursuline Nuns who settled in New Orleans, French Louisiana, a district within New France.

Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Elementary School has these three Code of Honor banners hanging in their gym. After our Class Notes concerts there today, we took a few moments to decide which of us best fit each one. I think we nailed it. Do you agree?

Curious young musicians at Shakopee High School lined up to take a closer look at Michael's positive organ and Maryne's viola da gamba after our Your Classical MPR's Class Notes presentation today. (Alas, no one was interested in looking down Alyssa's throat to see her instrument.)

We've had a great time performing Baroque music for hundreds of students from Kindergarteners through 12th graders this week in Shakopee, New Ulm, Waseca, and Lake Crystal!
