Meet Rex and Tucker, our two resident bobcats who have called Ober home since they were rescued from the illegal wildlife trade as tiny babies back in 2014. They’re 12 years old now — and full of personality.

They love chicken legs (their favorite treat!), high‑protein kibble, and interacting with their keepers. In fact… they’re known to hop onto a keeper’s back like a furry backpack when they’re feeling playful.

Bobcats are incredible athletes — they can leap 10–12 feet, run up to 30 mph, and blend into their surroundings with stealthy camouflage. They’re most active at dawn and dusk, and just like your house cat, they love to nap up high… so when you visit, look toward the top of their habitat to spot them lounging.

🚵‍♂️ New Fun at Ober Gatlinburg 🏹

Memorial Day Weekend is off to a fun start here in the Smokies! Tennessee's only lift-served downhill mountain biking is now open, a brand-new tubing experience is available on the mountain, and a newly added archery course is now opening at the top of the mountain.

We're excited to welcome guests for the summer season at Ober Gatlinburg! Ober is open Thursday through Monday and opens at 10am each day. All activities are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our freshly discounted Fun and Adventure Passes are the best way to experience the mountain, providing an all-in-one pass for a day full of adventure!

Ober Reopens ONE WEEK from today! Work has been extensive across the mountain the past three weeks. Ober reopens Thursday, May 14.

Some of the many projects we have been working on include:
- Building a new tubing experience
- Remodeling Sidewalk Cafe into Smoky's Grill
- Adding a Disc Golf course
- Adding two archery zones
- Preparing all of the mountain bike trails
- Replacing the haul rope on the Tennessee Flyer
- Extensive maintenance on The Gatlinburg Tram
- Maintenance and inspections on all chairlifts
- Re-surface turf area on the mountain

Ober Opens May 14 with the following:
