The band started when guitarist, Chris Miller, and drummer, Zach Burgos, began writing music together. They got together with no intentions of starting what became Pariah (later changed to Deity). Deity is something of a higher power, something that is worshiped higher than just a human. We chose the title of Deity because of the irony that we do not need pre-set philosophical mentalities to guide

our lives. We're a group of individuals that express ourselves through music. As much as we respect all the music that is being created today, we want to bring something new to the table, and convey our diversity.
