Some of you might know that I’ve moved (not far). I’m slowly unpacking my fabric and putting it in the new cabinets. More than half of my fabric has been inherited by the aunties and grandmas in my life. I found this piece today. I think this particular piece was gifted from part of my great grandmother’s collection. She was something. A tiny ball of fire. Fiercely independent. Anyway, the “Fruit of the Loom” label is something I’ve never noticed before. Likely from the 1920s-1930s, before they started producing more pre-made items.

I have a stack of half finished, personal projects and I just needed to finish something. So here she is. I admit that I had no idea how big this teddy bear would end up being. She is LARGE. But she’s also made from leftover material from other projects. It feels good to use up some of my stash. 🐻 Are there more giant teddy bears in my future? Yeah. Maybe. Probably. We’ll see. 💕

❤️ Today I’m rebinding one of the very first quilts I ever made. I’ve learned so much since I first sat down to create this quilt all those years ago. Today she’s getting a new binding and a little extra TLC. ❤️ I would normally pick the binding and reapply on quilt repairs. But I used to over compensate on the seam allowances and accidentally make huge quilts. So we have some extra room to serger the edges off on this one.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, throughout my years in marketing and sales, it’s that nothing - NOTHING - is more valuable to a business than a referral. You can talk until you’re blue in the face. You can be the best salesperson alive. But even that is not as powerful as a referral.
Today I hand delivered (and snail mailed) little gifts to a handful of sweet people who took a few extra minutes here and there to refer me to others. Not just once. But over and over again throughout 2020.
I might have to make this a tradition. End of the year gifts for the most fabulous of monsters. ❤️🥰

I was gifted this sweet jacket with a missing button. Lucky for me, I’m crafty and was able to replace the buttons. A good as new gift for my sweet little niece.
