All dressed up and ready to deliver. Thanks to my go-to framer Chemers Gallery for another beautiful frame up. This is a small drawing commission created with charcoal pencil and PanPastel on Strathmore toned paper. 🤍🩶🖤

Each of my portraits has a life span in regards to exhibition. As the work ages they no longer qualify to be entered if they are beyond 2-3 years old. You want people to see and connect with your pieces but you are against the clock and eventually they age out. My portrait “Ode to Joe” is almost there. I created this piece the month after Joe passed away in 2024. Since then this piece has exhibited in Colorado, New York, and London; And as a semifinalist in the Art Renewal Center Salon, an image of this piece will be launched to the Nobile Crater Region in the Moon’s🌛South Pole as part of the Lunar Codex project. As the time ticks down, it is lovely to know that this piece will be showing in November in my hometown of Laguna Beach, California. “Ode to Joe” was selected for the 20th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at the City Hall | September 28- November 12

Blah blah blah Ever have one of those weeks? I’m having one! 😖 throwing it back to this timelapse drawing video of muse Scarlett, whom I encountered at the Brand Library. This was a creative exploration using color and decorative paper along with my usual approach of Charcoal pencil and PanPastel on toned Strathmore paper.

Three generations! Me, my mom and youngest daughter Drew visited the Hilbert Museum today. It is the final days to see the 115th California Gold Medal Exhibition. Had fun chatting with visitors about my charcoal and PanPastel portrait drawing of Annsy “Through the Keys” | Big thanks to CAC President Emeritus Peter Adams for including me in his tour of the exhibit. Swipe to see me with my work and again to read about a special surprise for Drew! ➡️

Me with my portrait drawing of Annsy 🎹 “Through the Keys” : my very first California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition and hopefully not my last!

My Daughter Drew met Disney artist Jørgen Klubien in the North Wing of the Hilbert Museum today. Here they are standing in front of the original “The Lion King” storyboard! Notice the little friend that tagged along on Drew’s bag! Drew is a teacher at the Orange County School of the Arts and is teaching a Storyboarding class! A super special and emotional moment to have the opportunity to meet a hero of Disney and Pixar Art!

I got the good news today that I juried in to the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, California for next Summer 2027 🥳 During the run of the 2026 Summer show, a panel of 5 jurors came around 3 different times to judge and score our work. It’s humbling knowing the level of talent in the show. Truly honored to be invited back.
