As I am sure almost everyone on my feed knows by now, the Maryland Renaissance Festival was forced to close for today, Sunday, October 11, 2026. While it is a bummer for patrons who had tickets for the day, the festival itself is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars because of the closing.

Additionally, it is extremely difficult for those who make their living on the festival circuit, specifically merchants and performers. If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to RCEAF, the Renaissance Catastrophic Emergency Assistance Foundation, Inc. This organization helps Renaissance festival workers when there are emergencies and people need financial help. Most often those asks are small...gas to get to a next show; money for food or to pay a bill.
