🧶✨ Exciting things are happening at JoyCat Crochet!✨🧶

The response from our community about crochet classes has been SO incredibly positive! 💛 I’m beyond grateful for everyone who has reached out, offered help, shared connections, and encouraged me along the way. Some exciting conversations are happening behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to share more when the time is right! 👀

Right now, I’m busy creating class handouts, learning resources, and putting together the details to make these classes fun, welcoming, and worthwhile. And yes, your class will include the supplies you need to get started — crochet hook, yarn, and more! 🧶

What started as me teaching myself to crochet is growing into an opportunity to teach others in my own community. That feels pretty full circle, and I couldn’t be more excited! 🥹🧡

🧶 Freeport, would you be interested in learning to crochet?

Hello, everyone! 👋 I'm a Freeport native and the owner of JoyCat Crochet, a small handmade crochet business with a passion for spreading joy, one stitch at a time! 💕

I've had a few people reach out asking if I'd be willing to teach crochet, and it's got me thinking… what if we brought some crochet classes or casual crochet get-togethers to our community?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

🧶 Who would these be for?
• Complete beginners who have never picked up a crochet hook
• Adults and kids interested in learning a new hobby
• Anyone who knows the basics but wants to improve their skills
• Parents who need a little help with specific techniques, patterns, or projects
• Crocheters who want help with things like magic circles, sewing on limbs, attaching safety eyes, and other tricky parts of a project

I'd also welcome suggestions for specific techniques or projects you'd like to learn!

My goal would be to create a fun, welcoming environment where people of all ages and skill levels can learn, ask questions, work on projects, and connect with others who enjoy being creative.

There would be a small fee per class to help cover supplies and my time. I've already started looking into possible locations, including the library and other community spaces.

I really thought organizing my yarn room was going to solve my yarn problem. 😂🧶

Day 1: “I’m finally getting organized!”
Day 3: “Look! Everything has a home!”
Day 7: “Okay… maybe I need a little more space.”
Day 12: “I live here now.” 🫠

If you crochet, you already know there is no such thing as too much yarn… only not enough storage. 😂

The reality of running a small crochet business from home: making handmade crochet goodies, organizing ALL THE YARN, and somehow still finding reasons to bring home more.

Please tell me I’m not the only one. 👀👇
