Please join us in welcoming David Williams to the Stocks General Contractors team as our new Assistant Project Manager!

David brings eight years of construction-industry experience and a background in Construction Management. What he enjoys most about construction is seeing a project progress from the planning stages to the finished product, solving problems in the field, and working with different trades to keep everything moving forward.

Before entering the construction industry, David served in the United States Marine Corps Infantry from 2006 to 2010, completing two combat deployments. His military service strengthened the leadership, teamwork, accountability, and problem-solving skills he now brings to construction and project management.

In his new role, David will support project planning and coordination while working closely with our office and field teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and successfully.

As a veteran-owned company, we are especially proud to welcome another veteran to our team. We’re excited to have David join Stocks GC and look forward to the experience, discipline, and leadership he brings to this new role.

Another specialty infrastructure rehabilitation project is complete.

Last night, Luis, Edwin, and Vicente wrapped up the GeoKrete® installation inside this approximately 34-foot-deep, 10-foot-by-6-foot structure in Charleston, West Virginia, for Remnant Contracting.

GeoKrete materials were provided by Vortex. As we entered the final stretch, we determined that another pallet was needed to complete the installation. Vortex had the material available at its Harleyville, South Carolina, location Wednesday afternoon—but we needed it delivered to Charleston before the end of the day Friday.

One call to Walker’s Logistics got it moving.

Justin Walker personally ensured the material was picked up and delivered on time, while keeping us informed every step of the way. That support allowed our crew to finish the installation and wrap up the project last night.

Thank you to Remnant Contracting for trusting Stocks General Contractors with the installation, Vortex for supporting us with the additional material, and Walker’s Logistics for making the critical delivery happen.

Stocks General Contractors can now self-perform pre- and post-construction inspections of underground utility lines, manholes, and other structures using our RIDGID SeeSnake® inspection equipment.

Our current inspection capability includes:

* Utility lines typically up to 12” in diameter
* Inspection runs up to 325 feet
* Manholes and other utility structures
* Pre-construction condition documentation
* Post-construction/final verification
* Digital video documentation and reporting

Bringing this capability in-house gives us greater control over scheduling, documentation, and quality assurance while reducing the need to coordinate with third-party inspection contractors.

Sometimes the best opportunities don’t start with a bid invitation or a scheduled project.

Sometimes they start with a text:

“David has a crew available that can support the repair.”

Friday evening, one of our partners reached out about an emergency water-line repair at the Hyattsville Fire Department. They needed someone who could mobilize quickly, figure out what was needed, and get the job done.

Stocks answered the call.

What followed was approximately 24 hours straight for one of our crews — Friday evening through Saturday — working through a challenging emergency repair roughly 12 feet below grade.

That’s the part of this business I’m especially proud of.

You can own equipment.
You can have experience.
You can talk about capabilities.

But when the phone rings after hours and somebody is depending on you, your people are what make the difference.

I’m incredibly proud of our crew for stepping up, staying with it, and getting the job completed safely.

And thank you to Corenic Construction and the Hyattsville Fire Department for the trust, coordination, and teamwork throughout the repair.

We’re Hiring an Experienced Superintendent

Stocks General Contractors is continuing to grow, and we’re looking for an exceptional Superintendent to join our team.

This is not an entry-level position. We’re looking for a leader with 15+ years of underground utility construction experience who can take ownership of complex projects from start to finish.

We’re looking for someone with experience in:

• Civil construction
• Wet & dry underground utilities
• Earthwork & grading
• Concrete construction
• Managing multiple self-perform and subcontractor crews
• Emergency utility response work
• Material procurement, vendor coordination, and project logistics

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is dependable, trustworthy, organized, and respected within the underground utility industry. This individual should understand the pace and complexity of utility construction and have the leadership skills to keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and profitably.

📍 Candidates should be local to the DC Metro/Fredericksburg region and willing to travel throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. as project needs require.
