๐ŸŽต Artist Spotlight: Kate Smiles๐ŸŽต

We're honored to welcome Kate Smiles to Chords for a Cure

Kate is a singer-songwriter from the Washington, DC area whose soulful voice and heartfelt songwriting have captivated audiences for years. Influenced by artists like The Beatles, Brandi Carlile, Jeff Buckley, Fleetwood Mac, The Cranberries, and The Civil Wars, Kate creates music that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

For Kate, music is more than entertainmentโ€”it's healing.

Growing up in a household affected by alcoholism, illness, anxiety, and depression, Kate often struggled to express her emotions. It wasn't until college, while working at a music studio and learning guitar, that she discovered the power of music to process pain, find her voice, and connect with others.

"Through singing, playing guitar, and writing songs, music saved my life."

Today, Kate shares that gift through every performance, creating moments of connection, understanding, and hope.

Join us on June 27 at Prospect Pantry as Kate and a talented lineup of musicians come together to support Terrence Tomlin's recovery through the healing power of music.
