Not even a little rain could put a damper on such an amazing day for the FHS Choral Department! On Saturday, April 25th, 2026, the FHS Advanced Choir and FHS Marching Red Rams left for Virginia to compete in the Music in the Parks competition. After performing for a panel of judges, the FHS Advanced choir took home a 2nd place trophy with a Superior rating! A superior rating is the highest rating a music ensemble can receive at a competition.
Also, as a school, FHS earned the Esprit de Corps award! This award is a prestigious honor presented to one participating school that demonstrates superior positive attitude, exemplary behavior, and camaraderie. This award is often considered the most prestigious award of the entire competition.
We want to thank all our parent chaperones for supporting us throughout the day. Without your support, these students would not have had this amazing opportunity. Thank you to our drivers, Mr. John and Mr. Richard, and ABC Worldwide Charters for safely transporting our students for the day. Lastly, the choral program would like to thank Mrs. McDonald, the FHS Theatre Director. Not only was she a chaperone, but she doubled as a “keep students and Mr. McDonald from going insane/forgetting something” person during the trip.
Congratulations to all of the students for their hard work and dedication! This is a testament to the importance of music education! Come out and witness this amazing group at our final concert on May 19th, 2026!!
