📚✨ A NEW IDEA FOR THE CRAFTING NERD! ✨📚
I’ve been doing a LOT of brainstorming lately about how I can make The Crafting Nerd more than just a place for cute bookish things. I want it to become a place where readers can discover books and bookish products that fit them and their reading preferences. 🤍
One idea I’m especially excited about is…
💌 BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK!
Imagine choosing a wrapped book without knowing the title, but instead getting clues about the story and a clear content guide so you know what you’re getting into.
And because I know that every reader has different boundaries, I’m working on creating The Crafting Nerd Content Guide. 📖
🤍 CLEAN & WHOLESOME
Little to no mature content.
Think sweet, uplifting, cozy, Christian, or wholesome reads.
🌸 SWEET ROMANCE
Romance, flirting, dating, and kissing—but no sexual encounters, fade-to-black intimacy, or explicit sexual content.
🌿 MATURE THEMES — NON-EXPLICIT
This is the category I’m particularly excited about!
Some stories tackle difficult or serious subjects, and I don’t think that automatically makes them books we can’t share.
These books may explore things like:
⚠️ Abuse
⚠️ Sexual assault
⚠️ Trauma
⚠️ Grief
⚠️ Illness
⚠️ Difficult family relationships
⚠️ Violence
…and other heavier themes.
But they would still meet my boundary of no explicit sexual content and no fade-to-black sexual encounters.
Every book would have specific content notes so YOU can decide whether it’s right for you.
🚫 NOT OFFERED
Books containing explicit sexual content or fade-to-black sexual encounters simply wouldn’t be part of my curated selections.
Because here’s what I want my promise to be:
The title can be a surprise. The content shouldn’t be. 🤍
I want readers to be able to discover a book without worrying that they’re going to open it and unexpectedly encounter something outside their boundaries.
And I’m hoping this will allow me to share some AMAZING books that deal with meaningful, difficult subjects while still being transparent about what readers can expect.
I’m also thinking about offering different Blind Date themes like:
🏰 Clean Fantasy
🕵️ Cozy Mystery
🌸 Sweet Romance
📖 Historical Fiction
🤍 Christian Fiction
🌿 Mature Themes — Non-Explicit
✨ YA
👧🏼 Tween & Kid Reads
So I’d LOVE your thoughts!
Would you be interested in a Blind Date with a Book where you get the genre, tropes, content level, and content warnings—but the actual title stays a surprise?
And what genre would you want to see first?! 👇📚
