Thanks to Nancy Brennan Gudelski for these pictures of me “in action”! It’s very hard for me to remember to or to be able to take pictures while I’m doing a class! There were so many great questions about wine. Everyone was engaged! I think the Franciacorta was the favorite but I got a lot of requests for another tasting of the Catarratto from Sicily, the Viognier from Piedmont, the Nerello Mascalese from Sicily and the Brunello di Montalcino from Tuscany. I left Nan with 2 more bottles of each for the other 23 people coming to dinner. Reach out to me so I can do a party for you too!

I am so glad that I bought this kit because I struggle with blind tastings. I get in my head and question what I am smelling and tasting instead of just trusting myself! I forgot to give the name of the wine - it is Pewsey Vale Dry Riesling 2024 from Eden Valley, South Australia. It was delicious! Apparently I need to drink more Rieslings from 🇦🇺! 😳😋🤣

Wow! What a great party I did last night in LBI! My friend was having a family reunion and she asked me to do a wine tasting for 17! Because 23 more people were coming for dinner - Italian food was being served - I decided to do all Italian wines. I poured the following:
1. Ca’ Del Bosco Franciacorta Extra Brut from Lombardy.
2. Maugeri Catarratto from Sicily. 3. Abbona Langhe Cinerino Bianco from Piedmont. 100% Viognier. 4. Tenuta delle Terre Nere Calderara Sottana Rosso. 100% Nerello Mascalese from Sicily. 5. Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Brunello di Montalcino from Tuscany. All of the wines for a hit but the one that no one had had before was the Franciacorta. It was perfect with the appetizers that were served during my class. I bought the wines Carlo Russo’s Wine & Spirit World Chuck was so helpful in helping me pick delicious wines that would be a crowd pleaser! I was told I was “5 for 5”! I am SO excited to be doing a wine tasting party for 17 people for my friend’s family reunion! She is serving Italian food to another 23 people after the tasting so I am bringing A LOT of wine! I will be teaching about and pouring 5 delicious Italian wines!! She warned me that there might be some wine enthusiasts in the crowd who know a lot about wine so I am pouring 3 wines that may be unfamiliar to them! I will let you know if I stump them and teach them something new! I ❤️ a challenge and a fun crowd!!!

So it didn’t take long for me to try one of my wines from SocialSomm | Creator-Led Wine Clubs and William Ferguson Wine We have started going to a new (for us) BYOB - Positano in Wayne, NJ. We always split an appetizer, a main dish and a bottle of wine. We love their grilled eggplant with mozzarella and roasted peppers. Their chicken Milanese with burrata (I’m going to look like 🧀 😳🤣) and a side of angel hair with marinara sauce was delicious! The wine was Ca’ del Baio Paolina Barbera d’Alba 2024 from Piemonte, 🇮🇹 The winery is managed by 3 sisters and their parents. They use sustainable farming. I got notes of 🍒, raspberry, blackberry, a little earthiness, and some minerality. It was delicious!!! Look for more posts on the other 3 wines that came in my August shipment! 🚚

So I started following AMANDA YOA a few months ago and I think she’s really funny. She was playing down in Wildwod, NJ. I grew up, and my Dad still lives, about an hour away in South Jersey. He agreed to meet me and we had a great brunch Copper Dog Wildwood not far from The Vibes Hotel where we were staying. He 💕 the Basque Cheesecake so apparently I need to learn how to make one for the holidays. 😳😋We tried to walk the boardwalk but it was too hot, but he did win me a prize. We had a great dinner Pasta Pesto before the show! Amanda’s show was great!!! For breakfast we went to Pink Cadillac Diner because of the 50’s theme but it had really good food too! I am so happy I get to spend a lot of time with my Dad! He’s awesome!

So we always go to The Capital Grille for our anniversary AND for their Generous Pour that they do every summer. This year it was 6 superb wines from Duckhorn Vineyards in California. I opted for something new they were doing this year which was a curated wine dinner paired with the 6 wines. It was so good! First I had an amuse bouche - watermelon, crispy prosciutto and goat cheese with Goldeneye Rosé. Second course was a chopped salad with feta, dried cherries and marcona almonds with Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Then my main course was filet mignon with onion jam and mashed potatoes with Goldeneye Pinot Noir, Duckhorn Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Finally dessert was a flourless espresso cake with pistachio brittle. AMAZING!! 33 years! Wow! What a great night!

I met my son Mike in NYC Arte Museum New York at 61 Chelsea Piers. It was so cool! It’s a large, immersive digital art exhibit. We felt like we were in a waterfall, a tornado, a jungle and a meadow with butterflies and flowers. If you are into the band BTS, there was also an exhibit promoting their new album. Afterwards, we had lunch at CW Bistro at City Winery. I enjoyed a flight of red wines that were delicious with my burger. We then walked The High Line What a great way to spend a beautiful day!

I 💕 teaching people about wine! That’s why I started my business after passing the WSET level 3 exam in 2024. I had donated a sparkling wine tasting party for 10 people for Roots & Wings Aged-Out Foster It’s a great organization that helps young adults when they age out of foster care. A lovely lady won my party 🥳 and she invited 6 of her friends to join her. I always bring notes and ✏️! That’s the former teacher in me! We discussed how sparkling wines are made, the countries they represented, the tasting notes and a little history about Madame Clicquot. The ladies were fun and had great questions! So my fitness instructor recently asked me, as part of my daily check off list, to start journaling. I did and I am enjoying it but then all of these craft sites started popping up! I am in a book club so when I saw this kit, I just had to buy it Rongrong DeVoe - Fashion Illustrator I used to scrapbook when my boys were little so this is right up my alley! I think I will have to start doing that again because there are so many great sites now!!!
