Tonight, a few of us from Flutes de Lux are honored to perform at the Framingham Public Library for the Cultural Council Awards Ceremony! Not everyone could make it, but that’s the beauty of this group — our members step up, take on new parts, and support each other every step of the way. Congratulations to all of tonight’s honorees!

Our "An Eclectic Musical Journey" Spring Concert was a creative sojourn of music through the centuries and around the globe. The audience was enchanted. Our post concert reception was a fun party with lively banter, and inquisitive, informative conversations, as always! Thank you to those who came to listen! We're looking forward to our next concert featuring all works by women composers on, Saturday, May 30th.

We will be at this Saturday’s Find Your People Fair! Swing by our table for more information about joining and our ensemble’s upcoming performances. We will also have some brief information to share for musicians other than flutists.

The City of Framingham will host the second annual Find Your People Fair on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Historic Nevins Hall inside the Memorial Building, 150 Concord Street.

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural event, which brought together more than three dozen organizations, this year’s fair has expanded to include over 50 participating groups. Vendor space is officially sold out, reflecting the community’s growing enthusiasm for building connections.

The Find Your People Fair is free and open to the public.

The event is designed to help residents age 18 and older discover opportunities to connect with others who share their interests in arts, culture, service, hobbies, and more, reducing social isolation and fostering a stronger sense of belonging in Framingham.

“Events like the Find Your People Fair are what make Framingham such a welcoming and vibrant community,” said Mayor Charlie Sisitsky. “We are proud to offer residents opportunities to connect, build friendships, and strengthen the bonds that make our city thrive.”

Petroni, event co-chair, emphasized the fair’s impact: “Last year we saw residents walk into Nevins Hall not knowing what to expect and leave with new friendships, volunteer opportunities, and a renewed sense of belonging. That’s what this fair is all about.”

Co-chair Maria McHugh added: “Framingham has so many incredible organizations and groups to join, but sometimes people don’t know where to start. This fair gives residents a one-stop opportunity to ‘find their people’ and discover new ways to connect and get involved.”

The Find Your People Fair is part of a larger statewide effort in recognition of National Good Neighbor Day on September 29.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free, drop-in style event.
