A LIE IS A LIE. PERIOD!

I am sick and tired of political commercials taking someone's words, twisting them, leaving out important facts, and then presenting the result to the American people as the truth.

Let's talk about the commercial attacking James Talarico, claiming he supports putting parents in jail for refusing to allow their children to undergo gender transition surgery.

WHERE IS THE LAW? WHERE IS THE BILL? WHERE IS THE VOTE THAT SUPPORTS THAT ACCUSATION?

The actual legislative record does not support that claim. Yet the commercial presents it as though it is an established fact.

Stop calling this a half-truth. When you deliberately manipulate facts to create a completely different story, THAT IS A LIE!

And what makes this even more disturbing is that the Republican political group behind this advertisement is doing it to support Ken Paxton, a man who was impeached by the Republican controlled Texas House. Yes, his own party voted to impeach him! The Texas Senate later acquitted him, but that does not erase the impeachment or the controversies surrounding his time in office.

At what point do we start holding political campaigns and the organizations funding these advertisements accountable for knowingly spreading false information?

I believe we need stronger laws addressing deliberately deceptive political advertising, while protecting freedom of speech. Political campaigns should not get a free pass to mislead the public simply because they're trying to win an election.

If your candidate is so qualified, run on their qualifications. Run on their accomplishments. Run on their record. Why do you need to manufacture a story about somebody else?

Republican, Democrat, Independent, I don't care which party you belong to. The truth should matter to EVERYONE.

A HALF-TRUTH DESIGNED TO DECEIVE IS STILL A LIE. AND A LIE DOESN'T BECOME THE TRUTH JUST BECAUSE YOU PUT IT IN A POLITICAL COMMERCIAL.

🚨 STOP SAYING YOUR VOTE DOESN’T MATTER.

If your vote didn’t matter, THEY WOULDN’T WORK SO HARD TO CONTROL IT.

They wouldn’t fight over district lines.

They wouldn’t fight over voter ID laws.

They wouldn’t fight over registration rules, polling locations, early voting, and who gets access to the ballot.

Nobody fights this hard over something that has no power.

YOUR VOTE HAS POWER.

And every time you convince yourself that your vote doesn’t matter, somebody who absolutely believes THEIR vote matters is going to the polls and helping decide who represents you.

So hear me clearly:

GET UP. GET OUT. GO VOTE.

I vote in EVERY election. Local. State. Federal. Because the people making decisions that affect your taxes, schools, roads, public safety, healthcare, property, rights, and everyday life are not all elected during a presidential election.

And I especially want my PEOPLE OF COLOR to hear me.

Our ancestors fought, marched, sacrificed, were beaten, arrested, threatened, and in some cases killed while fighting for rights that include the right to vote.

Do not take that right for granted.

If you can get up and go to the club, GO VOTE.

If you can get up and support your favorite team, GO VOTE.

If you can travel to homecoming, GO VOTE.

If somebody you know wants to vote but doesn’t have a ride, TAKE THEM WITH YOU.

Stop saying your vote doesn’t matter.

Your vote matters enough that people have fought throughout American history over who gets to cast one.

So get registered. Know where you vote. Know what’s on your ballot. And when the time comes:

GET UP. GET OUT. GO VOTE.

🚨 LET’S TALK FACTS, NOT POLITICAL TALKING POINTS.

We constantly hear that violent crime is a “blue state problem” and that Democratic controlled states are supposedly more dangerous.

So instead of repeating the talking points, let’s look at the actual numbers.

Using 2024 FBI crime data, violent crime is broken into four major categories: murder, r**e, robbery, and aggravated assault.

Here’s what the averages per 100,000 residents show when comparing states currently under complete Republican and Democratic control:

🔴 REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED STATES

Overall violent crime: 334.7

Murder: 5.1

R**e: 43.9

Robbery: 30.8

Aggravated assault: 255.0

🔵 DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED STATES

Overall violent crime: 321.6

Murder: 4.1

R**e: 33.5

Robbery: 60.0

Aggravated assault: 224.0

So what do the numbers actually show?

🔴 Republican controlled states have the higher average for overall violent crime, murder, r**e, and aggravated assault.

🔵 Democratic controlled states have the higher average for robbery.

Now look at the 10 states with the highest overall violent crime rates:

Rank| State| Rate| Control
1| Alaska| 724.1| ⚪ Divided
2| New Mexico| 717.1| 🔵 Democrat
3| Tennessee| 592.3| 🔴 Republican
4| Arkansas| 579.4| 🔴 Republican
5| Louisiana| 519.8| 🔴 Republican
6| California| 486.0| 🔵 Democrat
7| Colorado| 476.3| 🔵 Democrat
8| Missouri| 462.0| 🔴 Republican
9| Kansas| 438.7| ⚪ Divided
10| South Carolina| 436.7| 🔴 Republican

That’s:

🔴 5 Republican controlled

🔵 3 Democratic controlled

⚪ 2 divided

Does this mean Republicans cause crime? NO.

Does a higher robbery rate in Democratic controlled states mean Democrats cause robbery? NO.

What it DOES mean is that the repeated claim that violent crime is simply a “blue state problem” doesn’t hold up when you look at the complete picture.

Crime is complicated. So if we’re going to have this conversation, let’s stop cherry picking numbers based on which political party we want to blame.

Look at ALL the numbers.

IS THIS REALLY NEWS… OR ARE WE JUST BEING CLICKED TO DEATH? 🤔

I was scrolling through the news today and started paying attention to the headlines.

NFL fans cry “rigged” over a questionable call.

Dan Lanning “taunts” USC after a win.

Angel Reese removes her protective mask during a game.

Trump’s height becomes a headline because somebody standing next to him appears taller.

Taylor Swift dedicates an award to Dolly Parton.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson raises concerns about how the Supreme Court is using its emergency docket.

And I found myself asking:

Are all of these things really NEWS?

Obviously, some stories have real consequences and deserve attention. Others seem like something that happened, somebody posted about it, and somebody else figured out how to turn it into a headline.

I remember when “breaking news” actually meant something had happened that you probably needed to know.

Now?

“Fans are furious.”
“Social media erupts.”
“People are stunned.”
“Internet can’t believe it.”
“Trump’s height exposed.”
“Coach fires back.”

Half the time the actual story underneath the headline is nowhere near as dramatic as the headline made it sound.

Maybe the news business isn’t just competing to INFORM us anymore.

They’re competing for our attention.

And that makes me wonder:

How much of what we call “news” today is actually news, and how much of it is simply content designed to make us CLICK?

That might be a conversation worth having.

🚨 SO NOW WE’RE OFFERING $5,000 FOR REPUBLICAN CONTROL OF CONGRESS?

President Trump just told Americans that if Republicans keep control of the House AND Senate, every adult American will get a $5,000 “Trump Dividend.”

His words:

“If the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000.”

I’m sorry, but I have a serious problem with that.

You can call it a “dividend.” You can call it a campaign promise. You can dress it up however you want.

I call it trying to buy votes.

Americans are struggling with the cost of living. People are feeling it at the grocery store, at the gas pump, with housing, utilities and everyday expenses.

And NOW, less than two months before the midterm election, the message is basically: Keep Republicans in control of Congress and you get $5,000?

Come on.

And here's another question: Where is this money coming from?

Giving $5,000 to every adult American could cost more than $1 TRILLION, and Congress would likely have to approve the money.

So we're already dealing with massive federal debt, but suddenly there's potentially over a trillion dollars available to hand out AFTER the election if Republicans win?

That doesn't sit right with me.

And yes, this next part is MY OPINION:

When you have to put $5,000 on the table to convince Americans to keep your party in power, that tells me you know people aren't satisfied with what they're seeing.

If your policies are working, run on the policies.

If the economy is working for everyday Americans, run on the economy.

If people are better off, run on the results.

But don't wave $5,000 in front of struggling Americans and tell them they get it if your party keeps Congress.

I don't care whether a Democrat, Republican or Independent did it. I'd have the same problem with it.

Elections should be won on leadership, policies and results.

Not a $5,000 check.

🚗💨 STRAIGHT FROM THE CRIBB: LEFT LANE EDITION

I have a question for some of y’all…

Why do people get in the LEFT LANE and just… STAY THERE? 😂

I’m driving east on I 20, and I’ve passed several signs that literally say:

LEFT LANE FOR PASSING ONLY

Not “Left Lane for Cruising.”

Not “Left Lane for Controlling Everybody Else’s Speed.”

Not “Congratulations, You’re the New Highway Patrol.” 😂

If you’re not passing anybody, why are you sitting over there?

And please don’t give me:

“Well, I’m doing the speed limit. They shouldn’t be going any faster anyway.”

WHO APPOINTED YOU? 😂

If somebody behind you is speeding, that’s between them and the police. You don’t have a badge, blue lights or a ticket book. Your job isn’t to regulate everybody else’s speed.

And then we have my personal favorite…

You try to pass them on the right, and NOW they want to speed up! 🤦🏾‍♂️

So now I have questions.

Is it ego?

Are you trying to control traffic?

Are you the highway hall monitor?

Or do some people honestly not understand what LEFT LANE FOR PASSING ONLY means?

Help me understand.

Because if you’re riding in the left lane with nobody to pass and traffic stacking up behind you…

MOVE OVER! 😂😂

🏈 WHEN YOU GO PRO… SHOULD COLLEGE STILL BE YOUR BACKUP PLAN?

I’m going to say something that might ruffle a few feathers.

If you leave college, pursue the NFL, sign an NFL contract and officially enter professional football, I believe your college playing days should be over.

Not because I’m against players getting opportunities. Not because I don’t want young men to succeed. But at some point, a decision has to mean something.

You made the decision to go pro.

If you make the NFL roster, congratulations. If you get cut, then unfortunately you go through the same process countless other players before you had to go through. You look for another NFL opportunity, a practice squad, another professional league, or whatever comes next.

But going back to college football?

I have a problem with that.

I understand the argument that some of these players might have had another year of eligibility under today's rules. But where does that stop?

If we go back one year, why not two years? Why not three?

Rules change all the time. Somebody is always going to fall on the other side of the cutoff.

And let's be clear about something else. College football isn't what it used to be. With NIL and players now being compensated, there could be a real financial incentive for someone to try the NFL, get cut, return to college, get paid, improve their stock and try the NFL again.

At that point, college starts becoming a fallback option for professional players.

I don't think that's what college football should become.

For me, the line is simple:

Once you SIGN an NFL contract and officially become a professional football player, your college football eligibility should be over. Period.

Now I want to hear from y'all.

🏈 Should an NFL player who gets cut be allowed to return to college football if he still has eligibility?

Or...

🏈 Once you sign that NFL contract, should the college door be permanently closed?

Sound off. 👇🏾

It’s funny how this conversation always seems to depend on which political party somebody belongs to.

People are quick to point at Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats and ask, “How did they become millionaires while serving in Congress?”

Fair question.

But why does the questioning stop there?

There are Republicans who are millionaires too. There are politicians on BOTH sides who entered office wealthy, became wealthier while serving, or saw their net worth increase significantly during their political careers.

So why are we pretending this is only a Democrat problem?

I don’t believe this is a Democrat issue.
I don’t believe it’s a Republican issue.
I believe it’s a SYSTEM issue.

And this is exactly why I support TERM LIMITS.

Public service was never supposed to become a lifetime career.

I also question why a U.S. Senator needs a six year term in the first place. Six years is a long time to hold federal power before facing the voters again.

And this shouldn't stop with Congress.

City. County. State. Federal.

At every level of government, there should be reasonable limits on how long someone can continuously hold political power.

Because the longer people stay in these positions, the greater the opportunity for relationships with lobbyists, wealthy donors, corporations and special interests to become more important than the people they were elected to represent.

And when politicians from either party become dramatically wealthier while holding public office, I think the public has every right to ask:

Where did the money come from?

Was it investments? Business income? A spouse's income? Book deals? Speaking engagements? Or something connected to the influence and access that comes with holding office?

Those questions should be asked whether there's a D, an R, an I or anything else beside somebody's name.

Stop protecting politicians because they wear your team's jersey.

If something looks questionable when the OTHER party does it, it should still look questionable when YOUR party does it.

Public office should be about SERVICE, not building a political dynasty or a personal fortune.
