Big moves on the studio homefront! Literally, one of us is moving into a new home, which means a bigger studio space. This move has pushed back opening our virtual doors for another month or two, but make no mistake, those doors will be opened! Hazzah! In the meantime, here is a fun little quiz to find out what kind of artist you are. And, even if you don't consider yourself an artist, give it a go; we are ALL artist's in our own unique way. :)

What kind of artist am I? If you've ever wondered which kind of art is best for you? Take this quiz to find out!

One process for some of my digital composition art. Step 1: Choose an image from old Public Domain images. Step 2: Create a digital charcoal sketch based on the image. Step 3: Create a refined composition inspired by the original Public Domain image and the charcoal sketch. Step 4: Final tweaks, add-ins, adjustments, etc. for a completed digital composite art piece. There are a lot of wonderful images in the public domain that can be used as a resource and inspiration, and there are a lot of places on the Internet to find thousands of those images. If you need some inspiration, you might enjoy visiting those sites. :)

Well, my goodness; it's June already! Hello, Creatives and friends of art. I found this interesting list of art challenges listed by month and thought it might be fun to share it with you. In fact, it would be awesome if anyone taking up a challenge or two might like, please feel free to share your results here on our studio page. As one of my favorite writers once said, "The world always seems brighter when you've just made something that wasn't there before." ~Neil Gaiman :)

Here is just a little something to share while we put the finishing touches on our website and store-- which should go live fairly soon. Thank you for staying tuned; we truly appreciate your views and your patience. :) "The Gathering." This piece was just me having a little fun with some new techniques I'm studying in a class on photo-artistry. The class is also where I found what may be my favorite quote on being an artist, and I find it fits whether I'm creating visual art, writing, or just living life in general. "To be an artist it is not necessary to make a living from our creations. Nor is it necessary to have work hanging in fine museums or the praise of critics . . . To be an artist it is necessary to live with our eyes wide open, to breathe in the colors of mountain and sky, to know the sound of leaves rustling, the smell of snow, the texture of bark . . . To be an artist is to notice every beautiful and tragic thing, to cry freely, to collect experience and shape it into forms that others can share." — Jan Phillips

Good morning, All! Everyone here in the studio has been super busy as we approach our store launch; this is the reason for the lack of posts. However, we never forget you, dear followers. For today's post, I wanted to share an article about an amazing 9-year-old photographer in China who has been practicing her art since she was just four years old! I think some of you may truly enjoy this wonderful article. It may inspire you, and we here at DBS are just a wee bit big on creative inspiration -- growing it, nurturing it, and sharing it with you, our kind followers. Enjoy and have a beautiful and inspiring weekend. :)

Fourth-grade photographer Zou Shengyu has lit up social media by shooting portraits for celebrities including Jason Momoa and Tony Leung.
