Tonight will mark 6 years of capturing the Candlelight Vigil for Su***de Loss.
6 years that I've seen people gather and mourn their lost loved ones.
6 years I've seen the heartbreak on their faces.
6 years I've captured them with messages for their loves ones.
6 years.
September is Su***de Prevention Month. It's not a topic people like to discuss but it is definitely worth knowing about. If you're worried about a loved one speak up.
Speaking for myself, as someone who has suffered from depression, sometimes I really feel like everyone may be better off without me. One less obstacle in their way, one less thing to mess up their lives. It's deeper than that, and it's not every day I feel this way, but it happens sometimes.
So I may understand some feelings of those we've lost, but I also see the pain and hurt to those who are left behind.
For 6 years I've been able to see both sides, and it hurts no matter which side I'm looking at.
Check in on your friends and loved ones. Learn signs of depression and su***de.
And if you yourself are feeling like you're in a dark, colorless place today, remember that it can get better. Look around you, see the love trying to reach you, and try to let the color soak back into your world. ππ©΅ππ©΅π
