This test tile offered marginal success. It's raw polymer clay with cyanotype chemistry on it. The coating kept beading up, so I placed a facial tissue on the tile and wet it with the chemicals. Obviously, it worked, but not a huge success. It's not Prussian blue and the image is pretty indistinct because the coating was not smooth and thick enough. Has anyone tried the gelatin technique on raw clay (not yet baked)? I'd like this to be easy enough to include in production of the clay StoryKeepers. Not there yet!

Labor Day always lands a little differently for people who make things for a living.

Today's slower pace is a good reminder of the effort behind every finished work, including "Murmuration 2," today's feature.

Slow it down and take some time to browse my online gallery this weekend.

Can anyone help? I need a mold or a charm from which to make a mold of a maple samara (seed unit). I tried making one from an actual seed pod, but they're too shallow and the mold wouldn't work correctly. I found a sterling silver charm on Etsy, but it was $$$ and not an option. I tried Thingaverse for a file to 3D print one, but couldn't find one--and suspect any file would be too large for my purposes.

The first polymer fairy door. It’s about 2 ½” tall. It’s a lot of little fussy details, which is not really my style, but it will make a fun workshop as the fairy door project progresses.
