A Little Nostalgia Today... Part 1...
I know today isn’t Thursday, but I’ve been hearing from everyone around me that I really don’t share enough. And honestly, they’re right! 👍

I’ve always been someone who prefers creating over posting. So today, I’m taking you back to 7 years ago — to the days when it all began, to my first pieces, some of the very first photos I took but never had the chance to share, and yes… a little bit of my beginner days too.

When I first started bringing my ideas to life, there was always one name in my mind: Çuval.

“Çuval” is the Turkish word for burlap. I added an “h” to make it easier to pronounce in English, and that’s how Chuvaldesign was born.

What started with just one room has now taken over almost the entire house! 🤦‍♀️

I sketched my ideas, sewed, painted fabrics with brushes, block-printed textiles, and even created my own little home photo studio. My sewing machine, paints, brushes and printing blocks became part of a simple little workshop that gave me so much joy.

My friends would always ask, “Who takes your photos?”

What they didn’t see was the behind-the-scenes setup — quite simple and definitely not fancy, but it worked! 😄

The first year was fun. Then COVID happened, and I had to take a break for various reasons, leaving many ideas in my head waiting to be brought to life.

For the past year and a half, I’ve been doing just that — creating, developing new concepts, and taking Chuvaldesign to different markets and festivals.

My goal is simple: to keep growing this as a small, boutique, handmade business that I can build with love and, most importantly, enjoy every step of the way.

So, I’m finally sharing some of those very first product photos and giving you a little peek behind the scenes at my very simple home studio.

And yes… this may be the longest Instagram post I’ve ever written. 😄
