From the I Will Tell Legacy Collection 🎬

Over 20 years, I Will Tell has screened extraordinary films and unforgettable stories from around the world — films that challenged us, moved us and stayed with us long after the credits rolled.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’re opening the vault and revisiting some of those moments.

In 2020, while so many festivals were forced to pause, I Will Tell—being the small but mighty festival we are—remained committed to providing a platform for independent filmmakers and recognising the extraordinary talent behind their work, even if it meant celebrating virtually.

We were honoured to have present with the I Will Tell Best Actor Award for his outstanding performance in Black Boy Joy.

It’s especially exciting to see Will now starring in The Color Book, another deeply moving film exploring many of the same themes of family, identity, love and hope. Watching artists grow, reach new audiences, and continue telling stories that matter is one of the greatest privileges of running a film festival.

Congratulations once again, Will. We’re proud to have celebrated your work and look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next.

Back in 2019, Filmmaker Sherrie Quannea reminded us that the stories that change us are rarely the easiest to watch.

They’re the ones that refuse to let us look away.

That’s why we keep searching for them.

Things are getting exciting! 🎉

We’ve made the final shortlist of films to premiere at the I Will Tell International Film Festival 2026, and we can’t wait to work with the incredible filmmakers selected this year.

For 20 years, we’ve been searching for stories that might otherwise never be seen—bringing them to the screen and sharing them with audiences willing to be moved, challenged, and inspired.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joins us on that journey. Every ticket, every conversation, and every screening helps ensure these voices are heard. ❤️🎬

Here’s what Playwright Mervyn Weir had to say after experiencing one of those unforgettable films.

We can’t wait to share this year’s stories with you in September!

Another reminder of why we do this!

This was our very first screening in Trinidad. 🇹🇹

As we celebrate 10 years of partnering with Bright Future TNT and 20 years of I Will Tell, we’re looking back with gratitude—and forward with even greater expectation.

Every journey begins with a first story. ❤️🎬

We may be a little biased… so we’ll let our audience and volunteers do the talking. 🎬

We’re so grateful to everyone who has been part of the I Will Tell family. ❤️

Roll on September! We can’t wait to celebrate 20 years with you. ✨

🎬 Help us choose our 20th Anniversary Retrospective Screening!

For 20 years, I Will Tell has shared stories that have inspired, challenged, healed, and sparked conversations long after the credits rolled.

Now we’d love your help.

đź’ Which film from the past 20 years has stayed with you?
Which screening meant something special?
Which story do you think deserves to be experienced again?

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary in London, we’re inviting our community to help choose one special film to return to the big screen as our 20th Anniversary Retrospective Screening.

Share your nomination in the comments and, if you can, tell us why it mattered to you. Your story may inspire someone else to experience it for the very first time.
