— Alexandria Searles, also known as Morowa Mosai, began her residency at American Landmark’s “Elevate at Brighton Park” Summerville apartment community late last year. Since beginning her residency, she has brought her unique artistic expression to the community, using her platform to share her Afrocentric and feminine styles through classes based on contemporary painting, jewelry making, coaster creation and DIY projects for home décor.

Though originally from New York, .klebron has lived in Phoenix since he was young. He’s worked with renowned chefs and restaurant concepts all around the Phoenix metro area, but his experience as a personal Chef truly sparked his passion for tailoring unique menus. He works diligently to ensure that clients, guests, family, or whomever he is cooking for have a positive experience, enjoy a sense of exclusivity, and indulge in the attention to detail through the dishes he creates.

The best example of Chef Kevin’s passion and dedication to his craft can be seen in his Vegan pop-up concept, . Founded in 2019 alongside his wife Chef Maria, Pachamama is entirely plant-based, Mexican inspired cuisine. Together, they embraced the challenge of re-creating some of their favorite Latin dishes in an original, completely plant-based flair. Pachamama can be found popping up regularly at locations such as the Uptown Farmers Market, Downtown Phoenix Farmer’s Market, as well as at local breweries, markets and events all around Phoenix.

“Cooking uses all five senses; you can be more in tune with what you are creating by using them. Cooking is my creative outlet and a way that creates a positive experience for whomever I’m cooking for.” - .klebron Being part of many local farmers markets and teaching classes onsite at events has connected Chef Kevin to the wider Phoenix community. Offering culinary art as a free amenity to residents is one of the ways our program enriches the apartment community and brings neighbors together. We are looking forward to Chef Kevin connecting even more people through his delicious food!

American Landmark: Artists in Residence is very excited to share the newest grant recipient, and second Culinary Artist, to take part in our program: Chef Kevin Lebron. .klebron is a graduate of The Art Institute of Phoenix’s Culinary Program and is beginning residency at The Access Apartments () in Tempe, Arizona. He will be sharing his passion for food and cultivating community with his fellow apartment building residents.

“Every plate or dish is a blank canvas; it’s a way to tell a story through your food.” From the time he was a freshman in high school, Kevin knew he wanted to be a chef. The past 23 years, he has worked in every facet of the culinary world including in restaurants, catering, as a private chef, and most notably, starting a Vegan pop-up concept in Phoenix with his wife, Chef Maria, called Pachamama (). He is knowledgeable in many styles of cuisine, from Latin American and Mexican, to Italian, Asian, American and more.

Chef Kevin is excited to continue his culinary journey and share his passion, skills and lifestyle as the resident Chef at The Access. He intends to show residents that cooking can be fun and simple. One of his ideas is to use social media to create a portal that has recipes and videos of the weekly cooking demos and events. He will teach a variety of classes once a week that will be available to the residents of The Access at no charge.

Stay tuned for Chef Kevin’s summer class schedule; we are so looking forward to seeing the culinary magic he creates with his community!

Sheherazade Thenard, AIR at Central Station on Orange in Downtown Orlando, created two outdoor murals on the property with vibrant colors and swirling, blossoming Passion flowers. Native to Florida, these intricate flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies in the summer and fall.

❤️‍🔥🪷⚔️🪷❤️‍🔥

“When I was given botanical flowers as a prompt for the Central Station murals, I immediately lingered on the Passion flowers my mother grows on the fence of her house…their sweet scent, potent fruit, and striking buds excited me each season. Because they are vines, it was fascinating for me to see how they draped over one another in a display of dominance for access to filtered light. When coming up with the concept for these murals, I imagined the flowers in that display of dominance in a duel, giving them bigger than life qualities in the tangle.”

“I initially thought about Magnolias as their large, soft petals make the wind smell sweet for months, and they have symbolic ties to Orlando. However, while I was working through different designs I found myself gravitating towards Passion flowers as I would frequently see them on my walks through Orlando’s Lake Eola Heights Historical District. I noticed them frequently overtaking whole trees and bushes which reminded me of home in South Florida. Ultimately, the consuming, fast growing nature of the Passion flower felt right for downtown Orlando.” - .thenard

❤️‍🔥🪷⚔️🪷❤️‍🔥

In the last slide are images of the many varieties of Passion flowers growing at Sheherazade’s mother’s house in South Florida. Each flower is touching the floor as they had already overtaken the fence.

Our very first Artist in Residence, Artem Mirolevich, shares his artistic background and where he finds inspiration in an interview with Fine Art Shippers. Check it out!

"As an artist, I’m just a transmitter, not even conveying messages, but fleeting ideas that are out there but haven’t yet been articulated. I often notice how an idea is born in a split second as if someone just put it in my head. Sometimes, though, it’s a long process in which the idea gradually evolves. I feel like it’s leading me in a certain direction, and I just follow where it goes. I can start a painting knowing exactly what I want to do, but at some point, it takes on a life of its own that I’ve no control over."

New York-based artist Artem Mirolevich creates whimsical, extremely detailed works full of mythical references.
