Although we mostly see it standing solo today, the Obelisk was never meant to stand alone. In ancient Egypt, Obelisks were often erected in pairs at temple entrances, symbolizing balance & the duality woven throughout Egyptian thought—earth & sky, human & divine, visible & invisible. Those messages still shine through in the powerful, single standing Obelisk today.

The medium of an artist chooses them. Sculpture- Chose me. Design- Chose me.
There’s something ancient in shaping raw material with your own hands… building form from inspiration & imagination. A quiet calling that pulls thought into matter. To create is to leave one’s fingerprints on the world.

A true artist creates not to get money or fame, but to experience BECOMING. To find out what’s inside you… to allow your soul to grow in expression- is everything.

Early work carries the raw spark of discovery. As life changes, the work changes. Perspective widens, and yet narrows simultaneously. They are connected from the very beginning; it’s every lesson, risk and evolution layered into form.

Like an Obelisk piercing the sky, the Artist too, reaches upward, seeking to be seen. Though true power isn’t in height; it’s in what it reflects. We can be inspired by the same structure- by becoming a symbol of true alignment.

The Obelisk is a quiet reminder that simplicity holds immense power. No noise—just presence, in a world full of distraction, the Obelisk invites us to stand tall, stay centered and reach higher.

Study #1
Colored Pencil + Charcoal

Studies serve as a blueprint to map out a perspective that is essential to understanding structure and form. Doing a study—such as sketching, color testing, or researching—is essential for planning composition, mastering techniques and understanding subjects, which ultimately leads to polished, final art. They allow experimentation as well as a time to solve problems and refine ideas.

The OBELISK has captured my interest for years. It has inspired me beyond its raw visual elements - the light, shadow, color and shape has given my life’s work meaning. Creating new forms by shifting perspective and focusing on negative space allows its history to be continuously told in a new way.
