We are a Bluegrass/ Gospel Band, based out of Forney, TX. And we will go and play just about anyplace that will let us. We have played at Churches, Sunday School / Bible study classes, Fish Fry, Bass Tournaments,... even been know just to play on the front porch and under neath the shade trees. Just ask and will come play for y"all.

It is with a sad and Heavy heart that we tell you that our Banjo Player Dr. Bob Porter has passed away. Bob has been a member of our group for the last three years. Bob was a great guy, he was a Christian, who believed in GOD and asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. Bob had a very successful dentist practice for many years.
Bob was a talented musician,
he played both Banjo and Guitar and was a great picker. He had a big smile, a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. But most of all he was our brother and our friend. We will miss him dearly.
Please pray for his sweet wife Nancy and their two sons Bobby and Josh.
Bob, we’ll see you on the other side.
Love you brother.

Our group, "The Strings of Faith", (minus Bill Ash and John Buttram ) with "The Isaacs" tonight at the Performing Art Center in Terrell,Tx. They put on a great show and gave great testimonies. God has really blessed them.

We start off our year by playing for FBC Forney in January and Mimosa Lane Baptist church in Mesquite in February.

Hi !! It has been a while since we have posted anything so we have 3 things that we need to let yáll know about.

Just wanted to let y 'all know that we are playing for "Best Yet Night" this thursday at First Baptist Forney. Dinner is at 6pm and we play at 7pm. This is one of our favorite events of the year. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Next, We want to offer our deepest sympathy to Brenda Elery and all of her family in the loss of her sister Cecilia Baker Meler. Brenda, we love you and are praying for God's comfort and peace that only HE can provide. Matthew 5:4 and Psalm 147:3

And last but not least, we have been together as a band for around 7 years plus or minus… with the original 6 members and that is pretty long run for a band. With that being said, our Banjo player Brad Crawford is stepping out of the group for a while. Brad has some things that he wants and needs to do and we all understand that. He leaves our group on good terms and with our blessing. Brad will always be a member of the Strings of Faith, and you will still see him play with us on occasion. We have been blessed and honored to play music with such a Godly man. Don't be surprised if you see him and James play for the offering one morning at Church.

So now we welcome the new Banjo player to the group, Bill Ash !! Bill is a great musician and Banjo player. He has already played a couple of gigs with us and fits into our group really well. Bill has quick and sharp sense of humor that you will find out pretty soon. We look forward to hearing Bill's arch top banjo ringing out and that tenor voice adding some harmony and leads to our group. Bill is a Godly man that loves the Lord and we are proud to welcome him to the Strings of Faith!!
