Today, we wind up our senior posts with the Time Dragon who holds the class of 2026's record for the most shows!

Alice Welciek has been part of 11 shows during her time in TDT: Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School, Matilda, All Together Now, Ranked, The Lightning Thief, Chicago, Clue, Frozen Jr., Mean Girls, Puffs, and Mamma Mia! When asked about her favorite role from that huge list, she says, “I always like to say my last show. So that would be Mamma Mia! Getting to know the cast and crew, growing close, learning such fun songs, singing and dancing with such talented people really made this show a wonderful experience!”

One of Alice’s favorite memories from her time in TDT comes from when she was in 7th grade, which was right around the time of Covid. She was watching a film with her family when she got a phone call from Kristina, who asked if she would want to play the lead in the next musical, Matilda. Alice remembers how excited, jumpy, and enthusiastic she was to just even think that she would get to play Matilda!

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show—Alice took Donna’s diary from Mamma Mia!

In the future, Alice is heading to Boston University, where she hopes to get a wonderful education in a field that she loves, where she gets to find new and exciting people. She hopes to fulfill her life by being kind and working hard every step of this fun new journey.

Alice’s advice for younger Time Dragons is to remember that theatre is not just about what you bring on stage; it is about the kindness, dedication, and patience you give to yourself and those around you. By being kind and working hard, you can truly be a wonderful actor!

Today we honor a senior who is celebrating both his TDT 5th anniversary and his graduation this year!

Isaac Opel has appeared in six shows during his years in TDT: Ranked, The Lightning Thief, Chicago, Clue, Mean Girls, and Mamma Mia. His favorite role during that time was either Mr. Boddy in Clue or Mr. Duvall in Mean Girls. One of his favorite memories from his time in TDT comes from Clue, when he fell “over and over again until we finally got someone to catch me!”

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show—Isaac went back a few shows and took the minotaur head that he wore in The Lightning Thief, back when he was a ninth grader!

In the future, Isaac plans to attend university for psychology and human development. Further down the road, he hopes to attend med school to become a psychiatrist. His advice for younger Time Dragons is to listen to your peers and your directors because while you could grow by yourself, with others you’ll exceed expectations and will be guaranteed to grow!

Today, we honor our Mamma Mia Legacy Robe recipient, who you saw on stage this season as Donna in Mamma Mia and Leanne in Puffs!

Charlotte Zapolski has been part of 9 shows during her time in TDT: Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School, Ranked, The Lightning Thief, Chicago, Clue, Frozen Jr., Mean Girls, Puffs, and Mamma Mia. She finds it difficult to choose her favorite show from that list because each holds a special place in her heart and has its own beautiful memories—but playing her dream role of Donna in her favorite musical, Mamma Mia, has been one of the most special and marvelous experiences of her life. Some of Charlotte’s other favorite roles from her time in TDT include Leanne, Karen, and Mrs. Peacock.

Some of Charlotte’s favorite moments from her time in TDT involve being with the amazing community of people that she has found here—they have become like her family. During our tech weeks, this feeling became all the more special as she shared some of her favorite moments with her TDT family, doing what we all love and shining on stage!

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show(s)—Charlotte took the owl that was thrown from the catwalk in Puffs and her glammed up Super Trouper microphone from Mamma Mia!

Charlotte hasn’t decided where she’ll land next year quite yet—but her top choices are nearby and she’s narrowing it down! She plans to study psychology and hopes to work with children in the future. Through it all, she hopes to continue pursuing what she loves, such as theater, art, soccer, violin, and exploring the world! Charlotte’s advice to younger Time Dragons is to believe in yourself always, to know that you have so much to offer the world, and to never give up! Most of all, never stop pursuing what you love and having fun, surrounded by your people. You all have an inner sparkle, so go out and let it shine! :)

Today we honor a senior who joined TDT for Ranked but then wasn't able to work it into her schedule again—until this year, and we were so glad to see her back!

Fergie Solano appeared in two shows during her time in TDT: Ranked and Mamma Mia. She enjoyed being part of both shows but especially loved Mamma Mia—she loved being part of the ensemble and being able to sing and dance with the rest of the cast to her favorite ABBA songs! One her favorite memories from Mamma Mia happened during the last performance of “The Winner Takes It All”—the select vocal chorus, who sang backstage during the song, formed a big circle and sang while hugging each other, creating a sentimental moment during a very powerful song.

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show—Fergie took the backdrop that was hanging above the bar in Mamma Mia!

In the future, Fergie plans to attend a 4-year college to pursue an associate of applied science degree. Her advice for younger Time Dragons is to enjoy every bit of rehearsal, even when you’re tired and want to go home—you’ll miss these times!

Today, we honor a senior who had been missing from the TDT stage for the past few years and was able to make it back for one last show before graduation!

Addison Schires appeared in 5 shows during her time in TDT: Matilda, All Together Now, Ranked, The Lighting Thief, and Mamma Mia. Her favorite show that she was part of was Mamma Mia, especially because she was part of the select dance and vocal choruses. One of her favorite memories from her time in TDT comes from All Together Now, when she played Good Riddance on the guitar with her TDT mentor Sophie.

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show—Addison took some fake flowers and a bottle with lights.

In the future, Addison will pursue her associates in social work and bachelors in business administration with a concentration in nonprofit management and organizational leadership. She has dreams of working in ministry, foster care, homeless shelters, or safehouses. She looks forward to helping anyone she can! Her advice for younger Time Dragons is to go into rehearsal with a passion to work hard and stay focused!

We are graduating only two technicians this year—and today, we honor one of them!

Jason Skupien worked on 8 shows during his years in TDT: The Lightning Thief, Attack! of the Killer Man from the Sun!, Chicago, Clue, Frozen Jr., Mean Girls, Puffs, and Mamma Mia. His favorite role during that time was as head of costumes for Puffs and Mamma Mia. One of Jace’s favorite memories from his time in TDT is the techies and all the shenanigans they get up to while waiting for the actors to get ready during tech. His favorite of those memories is when they made a blanket fort in the tech booth during Clue.

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show(s)—Jace took a dragon egg from Puffs and a vase from Mamma Mia. Fun fact: the vase was originally made for and used in The Lightning Thief, Jace’s first TDT show!

In the future, Jace will head to Winona State University, where he’ll study art education. He plans to be a teacher, but hopes to also be able to do some technical theater work with a youth theater program. His advice to younger Time Dragons is to keep doing amazing work and don’t be afraid to try something new!

With graduation only 7 weeks away, we'll be devoting posts to honoring our TDT graduating seniors this week! Today, a face you surely recognize from the TDT stage, Joseph.

Joseph appeared in 6 shows during his years in TDT: Ranked, The Lightning Thief, Chicago, Mean Girls, Puffs, and Mamma Mia. His favorite role during that time was his recent role as Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia. One of Joseph’s favorite memories from his time in TDT is the opening rituals, where we come together and appreciate all of our hard work before we get to show it to an audience.

TDT tradition decrees that seniors get to take a prop from their senior show(s)—Joseph took his wand and a golden egg from Puffs, and one of the glowing glass bottles from Mamma Mia.

In the future, Joseph will head to Bemidji State University, where he’ll get a four-year degree. His advice to younger Time Dragons is to appreciate all the people who work hard to put the show together with you, and also to remember to make memories and enjoy every show—these are the good old days you’ll smile looking back on. Finally, be confident and let it all out on stage—this is your moment!
