"Zentangle Zebra"
Pen and Ink
11×8.5
A drawing I did for my 2d Design class at Radford University. We were tasked to draw something in black and white that uses the elements and principles of art. I personally love using pen and ink for line art. It is a very rewarding process for me.
For the principles of design my peice is balanced by the large zebra in the front and the mountains in the foreground, it is all united by the repetitive lines and material, there is variety in the patterns and distances between lines, the zebra is being emphasized in the front, movement come from the flow of the lines and how the zebra is walking, pattern is created everywhere, and the proportions of the peice make sense.
For the elements of art I used line throughout the whole peice, shape to make the background and zebra, form specifically for the zebra, we didn't use color, there are values in the nose and in the patterns in the stripes, and the whole peice is textured.
