Most books I carry are rather modern, this is the exception. Despite the fact that this book was published the year I was born, it was picked intentionally. 📚 It seems like everyone on Instagram is a High Priestess these days, but I chose this book because I very clearly remember reading it in my 20's. I would scour my local library for books on Paganism, Wicca and Witchcraft. Often times they were from the 60's and 70s. I would bring home a pile, flip through them, w**d out the ones that were useless and keep the gems until I was done with them and had pages of notes. 🤓 (I still do this, I'm probably the reason my library recently stocked up again, there's just something comforting about holding a physical book in my hands!)
One of the things I love most about Paganism and Wicca is that there is not a lot of structure, harm none do what ye will. When you are first getting into Wicca though, structure can be very helpful. You can adapt what you enjoy from this book and ignore anything that does not fit with your beliefs or lifestyle. 🧙🏻♀️ Morwyn had actually spent decades studying Wicca and Witchcraft, really was a High Priestess of a Coven and had a metaphysical shop herself, not just an Instagram account. 🔮 Maybe its the fact that I enjoy the memory of my Uncle John asking why I was obsessively making lists while reading this on a family vacation, or maybe seeing the cover brings me back to my roots. Either way, it's worth a glance if you're looking for a guide book, I now have a copy on my nightstand once again!
