🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
On July 4, 1776, a bold idea changed the world.
Life. Liberty. The pursuit of Happiness.
Those weren't just words. They became an ideal that generations of Americans have spent nearly 250 years striving to live up to. And some of the greatest Americans of all time held those values. Here are just a few:
⭐ George Washington
General Washington led an army that was often cold, hungry, underpaid, and outnumbered.
When the war was over, many wanted him to become king.
He refused.
Instead, he became America's first President and proved that in the United States, the people—not one man—would rule.
By willingly giving up power after two terms, he established one of the most important traditions in American history and inspired democracies around the world.
❤️ Harriet Tubman
If there is one American whose courage seems almost impossible to comprehend, it's Harriet Tubman.
Known by many as "Moses," she repeatedly risked her life to guide enslaved men, women, and children to freedom through the Underground Railroad.
She carried no army.
She held no political office.
Yet she changed countless lives through unbelievable courage, faith, and determination.
💙 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A pastor.
The son of a pastor.
Fueled by his Christian faith and Biblical principles, Dr. King reminded America that our founding ideals belong to everyone.
He challenged the nation to live up to its own promise—that all people are created equal—and he did it through courage, faith, and peaceful protest.
His dream wasn't to replace America's ideals.
It was to fulfill them.
🔥 And then there's Flint.
We're proud to call Flint, Michigan home.
Founded in 1819, Flint grew from a frontier trading post into the city that helped put America on wheels.
Flint helped build the American Dream.
🚗 General Motors was founded here in 1908, and generations of Flint workers built the cars and trucks that carried millions of Americans to work, school, vacations, and new beginnings.
🌭 Koegel's has been serving its famous hot dogs and sausages since 1916, becoming a Michigan tradition for more than a century.
🚬 Paul's Pipe Shop, established in 1928, is one of America's historic pipe shops. Its founder, Paul T. Spaniola, became a six-time World Pipe Smoking Champion—a title that's as unique as Flint itself.
🎓 Kettering University has educated generations of engineers and innovators who helped shape the automotive industry.
💧 We've faced hardships unlike almost any other American city.....and we're still here.
Flint has always been a city of builders, makers, inventors, workers, and survivors.
That's something worth celebrating.
That's why Flint City Crafts exists. Proudly established in 2026 right here in Flint, Michigan.
