Open Letter to Benjamin Jenkins of Pridesource:
Hey Ben,
Are you willing to write an honest story about the case against Affirmations? Are you willing to talk to the community about how they honestly feel about the organization that seems to take it for granted that it serves the entire q***r community, not just the parts it likes?
Is there any willingness to change ahead of any court rulings? or is doing the right thing something you’re only capable of doing at the direction of a judge?
You and Affirmations and Pridesource have done me enormous damage: emotionally, psychologically, economically, and socially.
At some point, you’re gonna feel bad about how you’ve handled this. At some point, you’re going to have to recognize that you simply do not care about me. And rather than try these platitudes of acceptance that are complete fabrications of your mind, why don’t you just admit you do not care about my well-being, emotional safety, nor my ok-ness? You simply do not care.
To say otherwise would be another lie.
I’m fighting this in court. I will not stop doing that. But I am trying to give you an opportunity to recognize your shortcomings in how you’ve chosen to treat me. You have all hurt me immensely. I don’t think you can say the same of me. I don’t think you care enough to feel any hurt over this.
So, I ask again, Ben: are you going to respond to the story in the straight Free Press about our community? or are you going to let the straight community have the last word on this crucial situation unfolding in our community today?
Affirmations chose not to comment. you’re in my legal crosshairs, so i imagine you will suffer the same fear. you are ultimately afraid of me.
which is part and parcel why you are racist and xenophobic toward me: you are afraid of me, and those fears express themselves in your prejudices.
you are all prejudiced against me.
i was going to keep this email private, but it seems you do not listen and care even less when i do that. so, this is going back out to the community that you serve, without your assistance.
you will have to respond to this crisis unfolding in our community right before your very eyes, if you expect anyone in our community to take you seriously again.
you are an entertainment rag, right? masquerading as a news source for our community, right?
does ANYONE in the recipient list of this email find anything Affirmations and Pridesource are doing as questionable? or even objectionable?
can ANYONE in this community speak out against the injustices perpetrated by Affirmations and Pridesource without fear of retaliation?
Are there any whistleblowers who work at Pridesource or Affirmations?
Please step forward.
