you’re killing me
and then blaming me for dying.
this is the moment in our lives
when we distill the truth
from all the lying.
you’d have me believe
that when they kill me
it’s because i hated them.
but at the end of this road
is a trough of lies
so deep,
you’d have me believe
i hated myself
like you said i hated them.
how can you kill us
and then blame us for dying?
of course, that’s genocide.
you are ethnically cleansing us
all of us, leaving none of us standing
pushing us out of our homes
forcing us to leave our own land
what else can you possibly take?
you’d have me believe
there’s no redemption for us
what you ought to worry about
is finding your own.
‘cause you are killing us
and blaming us for dying.
you shoot us dead as we gasp for food
you suffocate us in your shame
as you blow out our brains
with guns of lost glory
glory you claimed
came from your heart
but in death do you love
all that you have taken from us.
you are killin’ me
and blaming me for dying.
of course, that’s genocide.
