AsONE Family,
What an incredible experience we shared in Jackson, Mississippi.
This past Saturday, we gathered in the heart of Jackson to do something simple, yet powerful. We walked. We prayed. We connected. We stood together as one.
Together, we lifted prayers for the City of Jackson, its leaders, churches, schools, families, neighborhoods, public servants, and communities. But our prayers did not stop at the city limits. We prayed for the entire State of Mississippi, believing that prayer can reach places our feet never will.
Today, our hearts are filled with gratitude.
We extend a very special thank you to Meegie Jordan and the entire AARP Mississippi team for helping make the AsONE Prayer Walk such an amazing experience. Your partnership, commitment, hospitality, and support helped bring the vision to life. We are grateful that you believed in the power of bringing people together through prayer and community.
Thank you to every pastor, church, community leader, organization, volunteer, participant, and supporter who joined us.
Whether you helped prepare, volunteered, prayed, walked, invited someone, shared information, or simply showed up, you were an important part of what happened in Jackson.
And now, we want to see the experience through your eyes.
If you attended the AsONE Prayer Walk and took pictures or videos, please share them on social media. When you post, be sure to tag:
Let your pictures tell the story.
Let people see what happens when a community chooses to come together.
Let them see prayer beyond the walls of the church.
Let them see unity in the streets.
Let them see Jackson praying together.
Most importantly, let us remember that Saturday was not the conclusion of something. It was another step in a much larger journey.
We walked on Saturday, but the prayers continue.
We gathered on Saturday, but the relationships must continue.
We experienced unity on Saturday, but now we must continue living it.
That is how a prayer walk becomes a movement.
Prayer
Gracious God,
Today, we simply begin by saying thank You.
Thank You for Jackson.
Thank You for Mississippi.
Thank You for every person who walked, prayed, served, supported, and believed in what was possible when we came together.
Thank You for allowing us to stand in the streets of Jackson and lift our voices together in prayer.
We ask You to bless Meegie Jordan and the entire AARP Mississippi team for their partnership and service. Bless every volunteer, pastor, community leader, organization, and participant who helped make this experience possible.
Now, Lord, do not allow the prayers we prayed to end with the walk.
Let them continue working in hearts, homes, churches, schools, neighborhoods, and communities throughout Mississippi.
Strengthen families.
Protect children.
Encourage educators.
Guide leaders.
Cover public servants.
Strengthen churches.
Bring healing where there is pain.
Bring reconciliation where there is division.
Bring hope where discouragement has taken root.
And help every person who walked with us understand that prayer is not simply something we do at an event. Prayer is how we remain connected to You and how we continue carrying one another.
Thank You for what we experienced in Jackson.
Thank You for what You are doing throughout Mississippi.
And thank You for every opportunity You give us to walk together, pray together, and become AsONE.
In Your name, Amen.
AsONE Reflection
We came to Jackson to pray.
We left Jackson reminded of why we must keep praying.
The walk may be over, but the movement continues.
