This piece is part of my personal collection because it serves as a marker in my faith journey.
Where do you go when you feel empty, hopeless, or tired at a soul level? I’ve learned that Jesus is the only One who can truly satisfy my soul. He is the giver of every good thing.
A big part of my art practice has always been more than creating—it’s been a way for me to slow down, worship, and process my thoughts before the Lord. So many of the things I’ve learned in life have come through this space of making, meditating, and sitting with His Word. It’s incredible how often He has spoken, corrected, and encouraged me right in the middle of creating.
I painted this piece around 2012, and I can still remember exactly what was happening in my life at the time—and how God was moving right in the middle of it all. It’s more than a painting to me. It holds a deep reminder of how God has transformed my life.
As we move through these August dog days of summer (our air conditioning even went out yesterday 🥵), I thought it would be a meaningful time to revisit this piece. It’s been a popular print over the years, and I only have one 3D canvas print left. It feels like the perfect way to close out the summer—with a beautiful reminder of where our true satisfaction comes from. Do you need this reminder in your space? ❤️
