Our sweet little Vivian Gray was born on January 14, weighing a whopping 5lbs 7oz. While she is tiny she is also mighty. She gives quite a fight getting a foot or hand in her little onesie jammies. After losing a bit of weight in the hospital she has gained back all of it and then some! We are so grateful that she is home now and able to snuggle with her momma and daddy whenever she wants. #amotherslove #agrandmotherslove #nicugraduate #tinybutmighty @claireferrante_

The ornaments are completed and getting ready to head out the door. I had to change the hangers due to the wire not holding up to my firing temperature. Ultimately, the silver bails really make the ornaments stand out. Very happy with them.

Modified method of using wax to do Mishima using the Semi-Moist Underglaze Palettes. It is so fun having such a wide variety of colors available at one time without having an equal number of jars open. The Grateful Potter ... this is the piece I was referencing in my last post.

Working on a bowl with the bird and flowers that I am loving so much. I am using Amaco Semi-Moist Underglaze palettes. The colors are strong so no need to paint multiple coats. They layer beautifully... just like watercolor painting. In areas where I want two colors to blend, I lay down the colors next to each other and then blend them with just water on the brush. For leaves and flowers I lay down the lightest color first and then come back with darker colors on top.

Bowls for my grandbabies’ special treats and a couple of mugs. The boys made their requests... The orange fellas are named Dewey1 and Dewey2... Harrison has a stuffed Dewey that he made at Build-a-bear. One of Henrik’s horses is from a picture I took of his other Grandpa’s horse.

Just a quick reminder for any of my local friends- SHAST Southern Hands Artist Studio Tour is this weekend! Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 11-5. The bird carvings are almost done with the 2nd more of a challenge than the first. The coloring is just food coloring as I add it to my water to paint with it before I start carving. Once I am almost finished I add a wash layer to see where I need to smooth out the surface.
