My full size "Terra Cotta Claydo" self figurative study is complete. I broke one of my personal ceramics rules to make this: NEVER create beyond the scale of your kiln dimensions. This had to be made in 2 parts, which breaks the continuity of the form, and makes it challenging to keep proportional value between the 2 pieces. I also built this figure hollow. This works well for me on other forms, but I prefer to sculpt figurative work solid then hollow it out afterwards. I definitely learned how I will approach figurative work in the future. Especially, when working with scale and proportion.
