Friday the 13th was crazy this year. We had a line around the shop before we even opened, being the apprentice it was my responsibility to keep the momentum of the day. I talked to dozens and dozens of people and did my best to make sure the artists had everything they needed. With tensions already high and me being over stimulated as f**k, my mentor whipped out a list with my name on it. He planned this; I was doing my first tattoo on him that day. Not only that, but right on his artists wrist. The same wrist he creates his amazing paintings and tattoos with. I nearly had a heart attack from the pressure. I was shaking and flustered but I didn’t hesitate and I pulled through. He got one of my designs I contributed to the flash sheet for the day and it fit perfectly between his other tattoos. It was not at all what I was expecting my first tattoo in the shop to be, but it turned out to be pretty good 🐸☕️ I’m still so shocked he trusted me with such a high visibility tattoo on such a crazy day, but it proves that he is just as committed to my career as I am. I couldn’t be more thankful for him and what he has taught me. This is the start of something beautiful. Cheers!

Little art update. I started the second sketchbook of my apprenticeship today. Got some of my designs for the sticker machine ready, all of which came from my first sketchbook. Been practicing a bit on pig skin and trying other fake skins. I’m about to start my biggest painting yet which will hopefully be someone’s sleeve one day 💕 I’ll be tattooing very soon keep an eye out for updates!

Here she is! Almost complete. Jake bought this “get what you get” machine a few months back and gave me the opportunity to hand paint the panels for it with some help from my mentor. All designs in the machine will be made by all the artists in the shop and assorted by price/detail/sizing. The machine will be fully assembled and ready to roll for our flash event and party next month for Friday the 13th. Mark your calendar and come get what you get!!

I will remember this day forever.
I’ve lucked out big time in the mentor department. This beautiful machine was put in my hands today as an early birthday present. Tears filled my eyes as I realized everything I’ve been manifesting for years is my reality now. I work in such a great shop with my favorite people and I am forever grateful for their acceptance and support. I promise to continue working hard on my craft. I will make you proud.
