Senior North JCL students did a service project with 7th and 8th grade language classes at Ben Franklin Middle School. They taught a lesson using Greek and Roman myths on kindness, compassion, and friendship. They led a discussion with the students about the benefits of having compassion for others and helped Ben Franklin students write kindess notes and create stickers to “pay it forward” at school and in the community.
The North students also led a Latin club event after school with 6, 7, and 8th graders. They taught them about Ancient Greek and Roman creatures and had a pumpking painting contest using what they learned about the mythological animals.

This Thursday and Friday students will be arriving in Fargo for NJCL 2019 from July 25th-31st. If anyone lives in Fargo or will be around during this time, we would love to have any help, especially on Thursday and Friday during arrival. NDJCL will be hosting the NJCL Convention for the 3rd time in 2019. If you would be interested in giving a testimonial/trip down memory lane concerning your 1997 or 2010 convention trip, it would preferably be in video form that we could post on the NDJCL website on the invitation page. For nostalgia sake, and proving you are getting old, Mason Taragos, Mrs. Strand’s son is the webmaster for NDJCL for the coming year. You may send them to me and I will pass them on.

On November 2 former FNJCL member Rachel Clarens Farnsworth (class of 1999) died because of cancer. Her funeral will be this Friday, November 10th, 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran North Campus. Requiescas in Pace, carissima Rachel!

A big shout out to former student, Jessica (Overbeck) Bergeron. She and her students hosted the NDJCL Convention this weekend at Eagle Ridge Academy. It was phenomenal! It was like watching a daughter coming of age. And since I bring that up another big shout out to my actual daughter, Emmalee, who was the NDJCL president who led an incredible group of officers for a very successful convention. A big thank you to Joe Goodkin for a wonderful performance as well.
