Yesterday was full of team building and adventure for the staff at Shelter House! We kicked off our Quarterly All-Staff meeting with a morning full of wonderful tools and information to combat Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, and Vicarious Trauma, presented by Heather Peck-Dziewulski of The Resilience Network. This was certainly not your run-of-the mill Self-Care Training! We also presented awards to staff for CAREing and for Time and Service.
We ended the day full of adventure and team building, breaking up into small groups of extra fun for mini golf, painting, lazer tag, and "escaping" a room! A huge thank you to Reston Community Center, Monster Mini Golf - Chantilly, VA, Pinot's Palette, Room Escape DC (Fairfax) and Thrill Zone Interactive Fun for making this all happen for our organization. Everyone had a blast joining together as a team and we all can't wait for our next all-staff meeting!
