Cabinet restoration is progressing. Old vinyl off, glue softened and removed, chips filled and the whole cabinet sanded upto 220 grit. New vinyl and new T-molding installed. More to come!!

BAD CATS custom cabinet update. I want to take a minute and say that www.pingraffix.com is the place to go for pinball and arcade replacement vinyl graphics. They laminate the printed vinyl with an impossibly-thin clear vinyl that adds scratch protection and a leaves a satin finish. This is the same way that Bally/Williams did it in the 90's and it looks and feels just like the original. I ONLY buy cabinet vinyl from Pingraffix and so should you. BTW Pingraffix will have a booth near the Jackpot Joe's Pinball Repair and Restoration at the Chicago Pinball EXPO this year. Come see us both!!

I like to reimagine pinball cabinet art and create something unique. With the permission of the owner, I'm taking a different approach with this BadCats cabinet. Rather than applying full vinyl graphics, I've chosen to stain the bare wood and cut out the vinyl graphics to apply as decals, revealing the richness and grain of the wood below. One panel done... more to follow.

Lets get this old cabinet ready to be recovered with new vinyl artwork from www.pingraffix.com 1. Remove old vinyl with heat gun 2. Remove glue by softening it with alcohol 3. Fill imperfections and sand all surfaces using 80 grit to 400 grit 4. Fix/fill holes where coin door lockbar was originally mounted using toothpicks, glue, grain filler 5. Wipe the surface with Naptha and prep for paint (Gloss black on the back of the lower cabinet and inside of the backbox, and clear on the rest to seal the grain... makes installing the new vinyl a bit easier)
