International Submarine Races ISR 11

International Submarine Races ISR 11 Human Powered "Wet-Type" Submarine Races (tm) are held every other year to promote education and innovation in underwater navigation. The first human-powered International Submarine Race (tm) (ISR) was held in 1989 at Singer Island off Riviera Beach, Florida and drew 17 boats.

Since 1995, the International Submarine Race has been held at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, David Taylor Model Basin in Bethesda, Maryland.

Claude Brancart, Head Judge and Contestant Liaison has been involved with the races since the beginning. As a contestant liaison, he has been responsible for the receipt and review of all applications to ensure adherence to the guidelines. As head judge he guides his team to ensure fair judgement of attributes and achievements of goals as set forth by the ISR.
