As part of the Spotlight on the Arts, the City of Fairfax is pleased to host an Irish Ceilidh. Music will be provided by Shepherd's Pie Ceili Band
Larry Oskin ~ Featured Artist: Reflections Of Spring! will share a new fine art photography collection to celebrate spring beauty by Larry Oskin of Art Beautique. Oskin strives to celebrate the pure beauty of flowers, landscapes, cityscapes, women and animals. His Art Beautique images look like contemporary impressionistic paintings, using bright, bold and vivid colors. His work is digitally enhanced to balance Oskin’s strong sense of color, layout and design with objective and non-objective abstract expressionism. Oskin shares his Art Beautique photography images as a dedicated color and field theorist. He truly remains inspired by beauty; whether from the human form or from nature itself.
Oskin shares, “Spring is always a great time to celebrate beauty. Everyone enjoys the absolute pleasure derived from seeing beautiful flowers, animals, sunrises, sunsets, people and picturesque landscapes. My Art Beautique images remain very stylized with a technique I created, called ‘Photo Impressionism’. I believe that fine art photography remains one of our best artistic forms of visual expression. I search to share what we can see, sense and feel, yet not always touch! With photography, we can share the instant of a beautiful sunrise, sunset and cloud, which may only otherwise be a mere quick memory. We are able to enjoy the memory of smiles, happiness, sorrow, love, warmth, friendship, beauty, romance and spirit as well as to remember the unique joy we may have experienced from a complete array of emotions. A picture may only be worth 1000 words, while little else will compare when you are able to capture any special moment in time!”
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Oskin has exhibited his original limited edition professional artwork in private art galleries and city museums including the famous Albright-Knox Art Gallery of Buffalo, NY. He has regularly exhibited his fine art collections within Northern Virginia and Washington, DC art galleries. Earlier in his career, Oskin was Director of Marketing for Circle Fine Art, which at the time was respected as the world’s largest fine art publisher and art gallery chain, where he provided marketing for Peter Max, Erté, Yaacov Agam, Norman Rockwell, LeRoy Neiman, Marcel Mouley, Walt Disney Studios and many internationally respected artists. Oskin is also owner of Marketing Solutions as a full-service marketing, graphic design, photography and PR agency specializing in the professional beauty and medical industries. This Spotlight On The Arts exhibit will also be his ‘Farewell Fairfax’ art show, as he will soon be moving to Clermont, Florida.
The Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, located at 3740 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22030.
