The Sleepover is a fun annual tradition about growing up, friendship, and hijinks. Each show has a different lead. This year Carter takes over and plans an incredible prank war for his friends. But does he go too far?

Carter is played by Dylan, one of our long time A+A vets. Over the past 4 years, Dylan has been in 16 productions with us! We asked him some questions to prepare for the show.

How long have you been acting?
I have been acting for nearly four years.

What’s your favorite thing about acting?
My favorite thing about acting is getting to work and act alongside friends.

What’s your favorite character you’ve ever played?
My favorite character I’ve ever played was Leon in Eternal Summer Slacking and Desperately Pondered.

Fact about Carter:
Carter is a witty and creative punk with a recent addition of character development in The Sleepover 4.

Fact about myself:
Fun fact about me is that I play 5 different musical instruments.

Hello!
First - I want to THANK EVERYONE who has reached out the last couple of days and offered to help, offered alternative/temp spaces, and shared nice words. I have the start of a plan for moving out and are looking for help in the following areas: Finding a Permanent New Space, Move out.

Finding a Permanent new space:
- I need people who can research, contact people, and find the best new spot for us to go
- On the graphic, I have listed what we are kind of looking for
- In my perfect world, I will have people working on that behind the scenes as I get through move out

Move Out
- I have a couple days set aside just for move out
- We will need people to transport things from the mall to vehicles and from vehicles to storage
- We will also need vehicles to store things.
- You do not need to sign up for an entire time on that time slot, those are just the times I plan to be getting stuff out.

To me, a theater is not a physical space, it is a community. And as long as all of you awesome people in the community follow us to our next space, we are going to be just fine 💚💙

The Sleepover 4 is part of an annual series we do that focuses on a group of boys who get into all sorts of trouble. The Sleepover shows are about growing up, friendship, and learning about yourself. The Sleepover 4 is all about pranks and this show is MESSY. Carter has gone viral with his pranks, but his constant fooling around has caused his friends distress. Has he gone too far?

A Message from our Executive Director,

Hello everyone,
It is with great sadness that I announce that our last day in the Exton Mall will be on June 30th. While we were leased until the end of October, I was made aware on Friday that we would need to vacate effective June 30th.

As you may suspect, we now have a lot of work to do as we plan and execute our departure in such a short window of time. We are developing a plan to get this done in a quick and efficient manner. I know this may lead to a lot of questions and I will try to guide everyone through this process but I apologize in advance if there are any delays in communication. Here are some quick things to note as we prepare.

State of Current Productions and Events
We will be moving forward to the best of our ability with the following productions/events
Oh Happy Day
Twisted Tales
Annual Summer Bash

All other projects and events are currently on hold. We will most likely not run a Fall Elementary Acting Course. The decision to run our annual skit fall youth program will be finalized at a future time. Ethics will be delayed. New Traditions will be on hold.

New Space
We are currently on the hunt for a new location. I know the perfect space is out there! I will post at a later time what exactly we would need with a new space.

Call for help!
We will need help in two major areas: moving our things and finding a new space.
For moving our things, we will need vehicles to load up and hands to move things from the theater to cars. This will primarily be done at the end of the month but anyone who is able to help, we will take it!
As far as finding a space, we are looking for people to research places and talk with leasing agents to try to get us a good spot and deal.
We will be sending out signups for help in both of these areas!

The Sleepover 4
The final show to be performed in our mall space will be a one act youth production, The Sleepover 4. When I was mentally preparing for our October departure, I was working on a script to celebrate our time in the mall and figured we would go out with that. However, fate has decided we will end with the Sleepover 4. This is oddly a very fitting show to go out on because it features the kids who have really made our theater their home these past 4 years.
If you can come out and support the kids and see one last show in our theater, we encourage you to do so! The show is Sunday afternoon and next Monday!

Final Thoughts
These past 4 years at the mall have been an incredible and amazing experience. I have watched our community grow and evolve. We took chances and challenged how people viewed theater. I’ve watched kids grow up in the space. I’ve watched adults find a new voice in a new stage of their life. I am so grateful for every moment. It is an honor to be a part of the Exton Mall’s 50+ year legacy. And it is kind of iconic to say we were part of the last remaining tenants.

Thank you to EVERYONE who has made this journey so special. I know we will find a new home and I know we will come back bigger and stronger. The community needs accessible theater and needs the arts. Let’s make it happen!
