Often, with jazz, one just "sits in" and we trust all the others to know the melody, chord changes and sometimes the lyrics too! Sometimes, we have written arrangements, sometimes we're just expected to know it, and sometimes we just fake it!
We make mistakes and then cover them up in a way that makes it sound intentional as we communicate in a language that makes us feel like we are home at last.

In retrospect, it's like a favorite game we play to see how well we can still play it. We actually had one rehearsal on this gig which was a luxury. 😉 Makes me wonder if I can still play the "game".🤔

Of all the higher powers of which one may choose, Jesus is the most loving, faithful and true. It is always okay to pray. I truly believe the Holy Spirit is always listening.

After nearly two decades of journaling, how sweet it is to re-read and reflect on the many answered prayers. The answers weren't always immediate or what I thought I wanted in the moment. The joy is in realizing, His answers were what I needed in the long run.

I love the message in this song and am grateful to be able to share it. 🙏js
