Open Studio Project has selected Hope Washinushi to receive this year’s Don Seiden Award!

As we celebrate the addition of YEA! (Young Evanston Artists) to OSP’s umbrella of programs, we are honoring the commitment and service of OSP’s Creative Director, Hope Washinushi, who spearheaded bringing these two organizations together.

Hope Washinushi is a dedicated artist with a clear passion for fostering creativity in her community. Hope took on the leadership of YEA! in 2018 and breathed new life into an established youth art event, transforming YEA! Fest into a vital and interactive community happening. Revamped with family-friendly activities, hands-on art-making opportunities, and food trucks, the annual event has engaged a wider audience and brought fresh energy to Raymond Park. Combining forces with Open Studio Project, Hope’s vision for YEA! extends beyond the festival to new collaborations, expanded school partnerships, and increased support for young Evanston artists.
