Many thanks to Blue River Arts Council for inviting Heidi Williams https://www.facebook.com/Hiditty and I to display our art at the Crete Public Library. The display will be up until the end of March.
Heidi did the amazing black and white black framed work.
We both painted cardinals for the Birds of a Feather icon project. I included a photo of my bird Orlando at the end of the photos in this post. He looks small but was quite large.

Today in art club I worked on a special acrylic painting. Hubby and I love to go camping and paint. This photo was taken in Colorado northwest of Black Hawk when everything was hazy from the wild fires.
This photo and painting take me back to the warm day when we walked a little ways from our campsite and set up for an afternoon of painting and relaxation. You could hear the breeze in the pines and there was a faint smell of smoke in the air. Spending time with the love of your life in this wonderful setting truly makes me thankful. I want to go back. 💕

Please pass this along to your kids. Looking forward to seeing the entries. Details in the attached post.
COLORING & CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST! Pass the word on to your kids that we are having a coloring & creative writing contest. We will have two age groups and they will be 0-9 year old and 10-18. The prize for each age group will be the same and it is a free pouring art class for the kid and a guardian in our Eustis studio only. No substitutions. The deadline for entry is March 18, 2022. The blind judging for the coloring & creative writing contest will be done by the Cozad Nebraska Art Club on March 21, 2021. We will not be involved with the judging.
In addition to the coloring of the design we would love to know what the kids love about Nebraska. Have them write the answers to this question under the segment on the right. If you need more room to write feel free to attach another sheet or a few sheets if needed. We know Nebraska is full of things we love!
Write their name, age, city & state and contact information lightly but legibly on the back side of the paper.
The entry can be printed off of this post or picked up at our business in Eustis. We have copies inside our gift shop/studio to hand out and we also will have them available when we are not here in the blue decorative box in our entry. When done they can be dropped off at our gift shop/studio, put in the blue box in the entry or mailed in. Our mailing address is on the design at the bottom.
We hope to hear from lots of kids and we will have the entries on display in our gift shop in Eustis at 110 W. Railroad. It is the old lumberyard and FYI-we recently switched over to this new name from our old one which was Rustic Milling & Craft.
Good luck and we are so excited to see them when they come back! Feel free to share this to anyone who might have kids interested in participating.
Ladies please contact me and I can give you some ideas for a unique, personal, one of a kind and memorable Valentine's Day gift for your honey.

It has been the pleasure of a lifetime to teach my art classes. Thank you so much to all who signed up for my classes across the state and for those of you that are repeat customers in my classes a special thank you goes out to you too.
So looking forward to meeting a new round of people in 2022...and I apologize in advance for being an enabler if you get hooked on barn quilts. Sorry....not sorry. :-)
A warm thank you goes out to those that have taken classes in our studio in Eustis in 2021 and/or bought from our gift shop. We will have the new studio space open soon and will be able to handle even larger classes soon! I am still going out on the road in 2022 but plan to be in our studio and gift shop more. My goal is to hold more classes there and offer a wider variety and be available for painting parties and offsite Friends & Family painting parties.
A big CHEERS and a Happy New Year to each and every one of you! 2022 is looking like an exciting year with new changes and developments in the works.
Don't see your local college with classes or is there something you want to buy that we carry-let us know and we will get it added.
From the bottom of our heart we would like to thank everyone who took our barn quilt workshops and bought barn quilt supplies in 2021. We are all changing the world one barn quilt at a time and one smile at a time. Never underestimate the power of art-not only for the viewer but for the artist!
We want to bring more barn quilts to every corner of Nebraska in 2022-contact us to host a barn quilt workshop in your community. If you have at least 8 to 10 people who are interested in painting a barn quilt and have a location for us to hold the workshop we can bring the painting experience to you. We do not charge a hosting location. If you are thinking of this idea please contact us ASAP to pencil in a date as certain months tend to fill up quickly.
We have barn quilt classes scheduled across the state, if your community college is not holding barn quilt workshops let us know and we will contact them and try to get one scheduled.
Sound on to hear the crunch. A few months ago I made some leaf impressions for stoneware ceramic necklace pendants. Yesterday I removed the leaves and did some final trimming. Today they will be fired and in a few days glazed.

There is so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for those who have helped support us by taking classes, bought from our gift shop or bought barn quilt supplies out of the back of my van down by the river. 😂 I am grateful to those who have simply helped by spreading the word about what we do. It is a blessing for me to help others rekindle the creative spark and keep that fire going.
On a personal note I am thankful for the Pop in our Mom and Pop operation. This guy has tirelessly worked miracles in transforming our old lumberyard into the creative spaces we have now. He also helps keep the barn quilt supply chain going. 🥰 His next project is our food truck Rustic Eats & Treats-cooking is his passion!
This is the latest project-two old lumber bays are being turned into another larger climate controlled art studio that connects to our current studio. The door will connect where the yellow insulation is. With larger commissions and needing a larger space for classroom overflow this was the answer. So excited to use it!
There is much to be thankful for. Enjoy the day and celebrate your friends and family. 💕 Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Yesterday I was at SCDS, we did the clay pinch pot reveal and painted a snowman picture.
The pinch pots were made a few months ago and started out life as balls of wet clay! After some glaze and a couple trips to the kiln they are now colorful, shiny and functional. We had one more that was just glazed so we will have another reveal on my next visit.
The acrylic snowman painting inspired many colorful versions! It was fun to see the creativity come out and every snowman take on a new identity and be unique.
