We are a collective of artists and performers from the Eugene, Oregon area dedicated to the promotion of free art and drag. We strive to empower our artists, and artists all around our community, with opportunities to showcase their art in a judgment-free space.
A couple of us came together to first try to create a drag house with the ideas of freedom of expression, idea, and open art. It very quickly evolved into something more, into a collective of many people, all wanting to be a part of a community that is supportive of each other’s art and performance. The Odd Box Cabaret, as we so named ourselves, became a space where we can support each other as friends and as performers, a space where we can be mutually inspired and be encouraging each other creatively and to try new things.
We strive to empower our artists, and artists all around our community, with opportunities to showcase their art in a judgment-free space. We promote freedom of expression, ideas, and voices. We do not tolerate racism, homophobia, islamophobia, zionism, ableism, or any discrimination of any kind. Our aim is to leave the drag community in Eugene, and hopefully the world in whole, better than we found it.
We believe that drag is art and that everyone's art should be celebrated and promoted, even if not always understood. We use our collective power to find more opportunities to perform for reasons we want.
