I was scheduled to do a pop up market this weekend but they were asking for donations for their raffle. I respectfully asked what the raffle was for because the organizer used the word charity. I was told it would go to the venue to help them maintain their facilities. I took my response off the group thread of all the vendors and asked for the person to clarify that the raffle they were hosting at the event that she had called a "charity" raffle, was going towards a for-profit business to help them maintain their facilities that were presumably being paid already for the weekend's event. Her response was to ask me not to come to the event.
This was not the first questionable practice associated with this venue that I've experienced first hand, though the venue hosted the previous event I did and a 3rd party is hosting the one this coming weekend.
Let's just say there are some very Shady practices going on at a certain produce stand/venue in Cottage Grove and I'm not planning to be associated with them at any point in the future.
