Bluegrass Gospel Project alums Taylor Armerding, Andy Greene, and Kirk Lord present original, time-honored, and contemporary Americana music to venues throughout New England. Showcasing compelling, intricately braided vocals and richly textured instrumental work, as well as solid, innovative rhythm, the three New England-based band members bring decades of performance experience to the stage.
TAYLOR ARMERDING was a founding member of the Boston-based progressive bluegrass band Northern Lights, which recorded nine albums, won a Boston Music Award, as well as a nomination for Song of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association. He also toured extensively with folk legend Jonathan Edwards, bluegrass pioneers Peter Rowan and Vassar Clements, and is a member, along with his son, Jake Amerding, of the acoustic supergroup, Barnstar.
ANDY GREENE is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. During the 1980s, he performed with the acoustic jam band Up the Creek. He was also the guitarist, lead singer, and principle songwriter for the contemporary bluegrass band Breakaway; they toured the East Coast and released several acclaimed recordings in the 1990s. In 2009, he formed the Modern Grass Quintet which recorded two well-received CDs and performed throughout northern New England. In 2016 Andy was enlisted to play the banjo with Norther Flyer. He also offers private music instruction and facilitates studio production.
KIRK LORD is a sought-after bassist and a highly-respected member of the New England bluegrass community. His early years as a rock and roll and R&B musician included a stint with The Truth, and during the 1980s to the early 2000s he performed with the Vermont-based bluegrass bands Bob Degrees & the Bluegrass Storm and the Big Spike Bluegrass. He was also the bassist for Northern Flyer. Kirk shares the stage with other renowned acoustic musicians including Patti Casey and Colin McCaffrey.
