Wowzers! Over one hundred "Strawberry Daydream" plushies just took a trip to the post office to make the voyage to their forever homes! Yay! 🥰

I can't believe how many of you supported this little dream of mine. I know the wait has been long, but I can't wait for you to see them in person!

I've spent the last week packaging all these bad boys.

One thing not talked about enough when considering all the hats an artist's wears, is the amount of time we spend working on getting packages all ready to go in order to be sent out. It's very time consuming.

Over the year's I've received literally hundreds of comments and dm's asking me if my eyes are actually two different colors.

I figured I would finally respond!

Yes, I have partial heterochromia ~ my left eye is half brown, with some blue, and green. My right is green.

When I was in school, occasionally the teachers would call eye colors for those who could be dismissed and in what order after school ended. I always ended up being the last kid in my seat. When the teacher asked me how she missed my eye color, I told her she never said "heterochromia." 😂 *Cue my literal autistic thinking*

Apparently my grandfather had heterochromia, so I think it's genetic. Everyone else is my entire family has brown eyes.

I've only met 2 other people with heterochromia in my life. If you have cool eyes, feel free to share below! 😉

It's worth it. Don't let the hook fool you. 😁 How do I know? Well, somebody resonated with it enough to want it on their wall forever!

My paintings vs Their references ~ "All good artists use references." ✨

Here are a few slides showcasing how one might use a reference for their art. I try to take my own photos when possible or when I have a specific idea I'd like to convey. As you can see, generally I try to change, alter, or add things when using the reference - such as the setting, adding butterflies or mushrooms, changing colors etc.

When I was young I thought using references was looked down upon, until I realized that all my favorite artists were using references too. It's okay to use references for accuracy - it truly helps.

Some kid just bolted into my booth and was like "You use AI. Don't lie." And I pointed to my hat pin and was like, "F*ck AI. I'm literally wearing an anti-AI pin on my hat. It's all watercolor, bro."

They got really quiet and then just walked away. 🤣
